the days we remember the most--a memorial poem to Aunt Diana
last month, i spent a week in the hospital, awaiting the doctor's reply to, "is she okay?" well, i got my answer, early one thursday morning. she had passed away, leaving many touched, but now in a better place. we miss her, but i would do it over, twice, if i had the chance.
we shared many laughs, many tears
we shared many hugs, many fears
we thought we'd be okay for many more years
yet these are the days we remember the most;;
driving down the highway, singing
turning up the volume so our ears were ringing
in a hug, we'd stay clinging
yet these are the days we remember the most;;
the many christmases we shared as a group
my mom always tried her hand at pea soup
at the mention of peas, my dad would droop
yet these are the days we remember the most;;
the pain, the suffering and man, the strife
but, hey, that's the way we lived life
it's really not fair how they used that knife
yet these are the days we remember the most;;
when they pulled open the casket
i nearly blew a gasket
and pulled another tissue from the basket
yet these are the days we remember the most;;
when they put you deep into the ground
everyone had began to frown
the silence was extremely profound
yet these are the days we remember the most;;
we shared many hugs, many fears
we thought we'd be okay for many more years
yet these are the days we remember the most;;

This is really beautiful so far, Kindro. *-* I'm excited to see the rest of it! The rhyming is great, and I love the repetition of the last line. It adds great flow. :3
