cyn's song ... out here the bird don't sing

Post by Cyn431 on 7/27/2010, 1:04 am

Oh my gosh. I feel so exposed right now like I said I'd be a blog or two back. Yikes. I'll go ahead and say what I said that time, just sort of in a rephrasing instead.

So from my first post ever to the third post on that new story thread I made (Painted Lady), I've always always always typed in indigo unless it was for some sort of posting game where most people copied and pasted the post before them. Like the Improv Song or Elimination games—those were the only places I ever didn't use indigo, or if it was a published work such as a poem, and even then sometimes I used indigo. It was like wearing my favorite party dress every single night.

And now I can't wear it. It makes me feel like Cinderella. (Or even better, /Cyn/derella, bwahaha.) Little Miss Cynderella loved the gifts that her fairy grandmother (BBCode) gave her: the dress (indigo), the hairdo (smilies), the shoes (signatures), the pumpkin carriage (templates), helpful animals (images)... Everything. But when the clock struck twelve, it all faded away. When midnight came around, Cynderella was left barefoot and in rags with a sloppy little nest of a hairdo to match. End of that little story.

Speaking of Cinderella—or Cynderella—I was curious earlier while we still had all those nice things and was looking at the front of Avvy's avvie and siggie shop (admit it, guys, it's beautiful). I noticed one of her siggie examples and certain lyrics on it. Curious, I did a Google search on those exact same words and came up with an amazing Killers song on YouTube. I put it in my signature—the link, anyway, it may require copying and pasting by now, though it didn't when I put it up—because it's that stellar. I'm going to provide it here too. So please either click or copy and paste this into another tab of your browser, you won't regret it.

'Kay here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVy2LkHdrqU

Now that the conversion is pretty much in process (or at least it might as well be since we're shutting down), I wonder what I'm going to do. I guess I should be writing as much of Painted Lady as I can while we're down and then people can read once it's all up and running again. All the while, though, I'll have the chatbox up on my other monitor. I'm kind of hoping there are people there so communication is possible. ^^

Another thing... I'm thinking about making this one Facebook account that's used solely for Twig purposes. I'll have my pen name on it along with other things, and through that I can role-play with all of you. I'm not sure, though. I do want to reread the terms and conditions (or scan them, anyway) to see if multiple accounts are permitted. I mean, I'd probably do it anyway, but I need to know how sneaky I've got to be. People can suspect things after all. And if my parents see me on Facebook... Well, either they'll kill me or they'll demand friendship, which would result in the creation of /another/ Facebook account if the latter occurs. Which I don't mind, it's just that I'll probably never use that account ever. I'm not really into social networking anymore these days outside of Twig, considering there are only four people in real life that give a darn about my life, and only one of them is on Facebook. I do have to wonder about a few guys that act like they crush on me, though. o.e Then again, if you total up the number of guys I either know like me or I'm paranoid over the possibility that they might considering some signs, you get the number eight, so I'm probably just insane.

So... Um. I need to plan what I'm going to do while Twig is down.

1. Read /Immortal/ by Gillian Shields.
2. Read /Poirot Investigates/ by Agatha Christie.
3. Use up that iTunes gift card.
4. Play Guitar/Band Hero.
5. Listen to music.
6. Maybe join Facebook to RP.
7. Stick to the Cup o' Joe and Chatbox on Twig.
8. Play Toontown.
9. Write some of Painted Lady.
10. Eat some purple toes.

Credit to Shadow for the idea of the last one.

OH! That list reminds me. It's tempting to ask if any of you are interested in playing Wii Guitar or Band Hero sometime over the conversion time, but it feels too much like something I'd get kicked in the butt for asking about. Probably still a little irked or something from that one thread on WI that was complaining about the prohibition from sharing Wii friend codes. But, erm, if you're interested, have a Wii and play any of the Guitar or Band Hero games (barring the Van Halen, Aerosmith and Metallica themed ones), PM me or something, I'll be around. Hopefully. Or if I don't respond, just go on Guitar Hero 5 and hope you find me on the matchmaking thing. I guarantee I'll be Expert Guitar.

Um, I don't think I'll be able to do the usual Twigwood and Scatterbrain Special stuff. Throughout the course of the conversion, feel free to post random words and movies and video games and books and TV shows and other things for those two things though. I'll probably do those segments in epic proportions once we're on MyBB.

So enjoy these questions.

1. What ya doing during the conversion?
2. Do you miss the smilies?
3. Did you click on the link? Thoughts?
4. I don't know.

I am at the sleepover but people kept posting when I was typing my reply. xD And I don't really like the chatbox, but maybe I'll go over when I get bored enough.

1. Dying . . . stalking my inbox . . . creeping on my imaginary friends . . .
2. :face: . . . *dies* Yeah. :'(
3. Yeah! ^^ I think it was a cool song; I didn't like the guys voice, too pitchy, but the lyrics were cool, and the music had such a cool atmosphere.
4. Meeeeneieiiiither. D':

1. What ya doing during the conversion? Bite my fingernails. Rhetorically, of course, because I'm a germ freak. xD
2. Do you miss the smilies? Not really.
3. Did you click on the link? Thoughts? I didn't, because the second I saw it I was like, Oh, crap. Because I realized that it's actually a /link/ and somehow it was parsed to an actual /link/ and now... well, html is stripped anyways from posts once they're in MyBB, so it'll be fine. I keep freaking out over every little thing.
4. I don't know. BOO.

3. Would it really change much, though, Ari? Because the whole of the link is visible, or does that affect it at all? xD

1. Hardcore character development time. >:3 I'm going to use every one of Shadow's little forms (in the character development section) for all the characters in my new stories. Probably practice the banjo and saxophone, too... -.-
2. Yes... :(
3. Yeah! I really like this song. I love Brandon's voice... *-*
4. I just got why you spelled Cyndrella so oddly! *is slow*
