It's Time To Break Free

Okay, this is like REALLY long. But I like it. It's a true story about me.



All the times I've cried
Why can't I be myself?
All these years I've tried
To do this with no help
Every time I dry my tears
I come across my deepest fears
I'm breaking
Down

The years go by
It's time to fly
But I stay firmly rooted to the ground
Everyone's growing up
I'm shrinking
Why can't I get myself
Out of this wishful thinking
And make it true?

I'm on my own
All alone
No one could ever know
How I feel
Words and songs
The only things
That are real
To me

Finally I meet
People like me
Still I can't imagine
How they could see
How I feel
About breaking free

Again I try
To no avail
Again I cry
It's time to sail
Away
Give me time to think
About this world
And who I really am

My heart begins to shatter
Why am I this way?
Why can't I just be myself
Finally, today?
I feel helpless and alone
Give me time and I will show you
Who I am

Finally
I realize
I can't keep waiting
I have to change.
Slowly but surely
I show the world who I am
This is me.

It's time to break free.

No I'm not emo...
I've just been through alot of rough times and so far my life has not been spectacular, at least, I haven't fully appriciated it. My life has actually been pretty good, I just wasnt living life to the fullest and being myself. And that's why I havent realized how good I have it, because I'm too caught up in being all sad and feeling bad for myself.
Basically what the poem means is this:
All this time I've had so much trouble being myself, and I kept waiting and waiting for things to change but then I realized my life wasn't going to change itself, I had to to change it. It's time to break free and be myself.
And I did break down my wall and my life has been alot better ever since I did.

Sad, but good.

Mmm... I like this one. It inspires me to write a song/poem about my experience with Eddy...
It's depressing and yet... INSPIRING.
