Nightkit woke early that morning. Today they were turning six moons.

Skykit squeaked. "Call me Skypaw!" He boasted to his siblings.
"Well I'm Mousepaw!"

"Not yet!" Eagleflight told them. "Now come here, kits, let me groom you!"

Skykit squeaked and avoided his mother by running out onto the Highbracken.

"Skykit! Come back here!" she called, darting after him.

Shrewstar welcomed his kit by licking him.
Skykit beamed and hit behind him.

Eagleflight stopped infront of Shrewstar. "Have you...seen...Skykit?"

"Not at all." Shrewstar told her.

Eagleflight scented the air. "Liar."

He grinned. "leave him alone, Eagleflight. You tortured him enough last night."

"He needs to be clean. I won't let my kit get his apprentice ceremony looking raggedy."

"You do the other kits. I'll do him."

"Alright, alright." she turned to leave. "But he better look nice, or else I'll claw your ears off!" she bounded back to the nursery.

"He will!" Shrewstar called, and groomed his kin.

Eagleflight began to wash Mousekit.

Mousekit grumbled but stayed put.

As soon as Mousekit was done, she groomed the other two.

Mousekit ran after her brother.

Eagleflight got up when they were done and went to tell Shrewstar.

Shrewstar nodded at her. "Will all cats old enough to catch their own prey join me at the Highledge for an important Clan meeting!"
