The house was empty by now, except for Gwen and whoever else of Amanda's charries that she wanted to keep in the house. She was sitting, perched on a stool, talking with Samuel. "Your mother was the best nurse in the Confederate side" She told him.

Samuel smiled slightly, "Thank you. And you were second best, if that's the case." He grinned at her.

"You were a nurse in the Civil War?" I asked curiously. Maybe there was something to do here besides protect Amanda from every single living thing. Maybe there was someone else to talk to than her. Yes, I constantly loved her company, but she was human. And though I loved her, I yearned for someone of my own kind.

Leach grinned a little, "Sorry..." He muttered a little, rubbing the top of his head. "Nobody's powers work around me. I can give you power back, it'd just take a lot of my concentration." He explained, looking a bit sheepish to how Jasper had reacted to his powers suddenly not working.
