I lifted her back into my arms. "Jasper, I can see it in your eyes. You can't take this anymore. Please." I coughed lightly and turned back to him. "You need a rest."
"Amanda, I won't leave when my family needs me." I said surely. "Overprotective fool." She teased, but I could tell Amanda did want me there. She shivered slightly, and I supressed a sigh. I put my black tuxedo coat over her shoulders [He's still in the dance clothes form last night. xD] and it subsided slightly.

Hailey yawned again, resting her forehead on Amanda's shoulder, seeming close to drifting off into another deep sleep, like she had just the night before. But she listened to their conversation intently, wide awake.

I sneezed once, and Jasper sighed. "I can't leave you, Amanda. Especially with Hailey." I sighed. "Fine." I didn't really want him to leave anyway. I wanted him to go because he needed it, but I didn't really want him gone. I let my head drift to his shoulder.

"I mean . . . she needs rest, but we'll all be safer the sooner we get out of here." The vampire lowered her voice to a near-silent whisper to say, "We don't know if Aro plans on changing his mind."

Hailey blinked her large eyes at the two, still holding her hand to her mouth like she had been before. "It was an accident!" She squeaked immediately, not wanting the two to get back at her and leave her alone again in the forest.

"That seems to be her power." Added Carlisle.

-----Jacob's ears pricked quietly, and he examined her face. She seemed quite calm at the moment, actually . . . unlike him. . . . Then, the full meaning of her words sank in, and a grin helplessly spread across his face.
-----So he'd been wrong? She did feel the same about him?!

"How are we supposed to get Amanda out, though? We can't swim with her... she'd freeze, for one, and can't breathe. And I don't think it'd be very good on either of our records if we took a half-unconcious girl on a plane." I whispered back.

Chloe tilted her head at him, her eyebrow raising slightly, "Jake, I can't read your thoughts at the moment." She told him, "I'd really like to know what you'd like to be saying right now, Jake. 'cause this is starting to confuse me." She couldn't help but chuckle quietly.

-----Stephanie winced again. "Nevermind, then. I guess we don't have much choice except to stay." Letting out a sigh, she looked out the window again, and then back to Jasper and Amanda.
-----That was just too sweet . . . Jasper and Amanda. How could either of them think they weren't good enough for each other? They belonged together. Steph's face became somewhat morose as she watched them, despite her delight in the couple.
-----Amanda has her Edward now, too. But where's mine?

In truth, she'd only ever been at the wheel a few times in the past before, since even now she wasn't even fifteen. But she was pretty sure she could do it with her vampire senses.
