"Roperi..." he droned in a deeply felt plaintive cry.

His heart stood still and skipped a beat rudely. His eyes bursted open and he regained a grip on himself. "Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle, Roperi's finally come back..." He grinned brightly.

She started to wake up.

"Aye, aye!" He felt jumpy and hyper-active, again.

She laid and stared around. No parents.
This was her chance... to get out. But... how?
Gnaw on the crib bars until they break off? Try to slide between them, or try to jump over the crib itself?

She hustled herself up on her knees and gave the outside of the cradle a black look, and a dirty stare... she wanted to be free so badly..
He bolted off as fast as he could with her.

AND SHE hoped they were to get there soon.

She clutched the crib bars with her tiny hands and thought of her scheme a little more thoroughly...

He rushed with her over to their huge, gothic manor.

She let herself shin up her crib. Trying to climb over it...
And she was almost there... so nearly there... she was just a few seconds away from crying out in victory... and, most importantly, bringing home the bacon from the kitchen...

She kept trying to escalate the crib bars -- but it wasn't easy.

But eventually, she was able to heave one of her legs up over the railing. She slung her other leg over it, and stared down at the ground...
... Knowing she'd have to throw herself at the ground... and there was no way she would miss it... she was a little scared, but she knew that fear wouldn't hold her back...

"Argh!" He tried to sprint faster. "She's behind that very door!" He pointed to the door to her bedroom with his free hand. "Let's move!"

She frowned automatically.

"Amarantha, that was very unwise of you," He shared the same scowl as Roperi's on his face.
