The Little Things

Remember when you were little and everything seemed new and exciting? When you noticed little things like a lucky penny laying on the sidewalk, or a leaf in the shape of a heart? But as you got older those things didn't matter as much. They became insignificant, unimportant. All the little things became just that, little things. But what if it's the little things that matter? The small details that no one gives a second thought? Maybe we should pay a little more attention to what is going on around us. Or maybe we just can't see what is going on around us, because we're always focusing on our own lives and our own problems. And so we let it pass by. We say farewell to a sweet moment because we have better things to do. And so I ask, do you take that second glance? Do you notice the little things?

I agree. I always try to notice the little things. But it's hard.

Yeah, it's very hard.

Sometimes it is hard to notice the little things. Though, I find it fascinating to notice all the little things when I look out car windows. I'll bring a thousand things to do on long car rides, and find myself just gazing out the window the whole time. It never gets old, to me.
