Noah had dissapeared, without a word or a sound, and if you looked there was a blur, the door opening and slamming shut, and someone standing outside by the lake.

"Owh!" David said, pulling away and pushing his hands so that they went from her to his head, possibly having enough force to push her down.

Ever's gaze darkened with sympathy. "Oh, I'm so sorry," she murmured sadly, feeling stupid for whining about her problems when his were clearly much worse.

Derrick shrugged, "It wasn't all that bad. I mean living on the boat was fun especially when we went to port. It was every little boy's dream; like being a pirate."

She grinned, "Yeah, I suppose that would have been fun," Ever agreed, "I know that I've always wanted to go on a boat."

"It's fun but the best was skiing out behind the boat when we could. A definate thrill," he smiled at her.

Padfoot groaned and shut her eyes, muttering several incohearent words. "Oi, oi, oi..."

Corie was suddenly standing next to Taylor again, steam practically coming out of her ears. She was pale, almost vampire-ish pale, her ears pointed. Her hair looked black now, her hands clenching into fists. "I'm sorry, I-- I couldn't help it, I had to."

I stumbled back, almost falling, confused, my eyes round but also a bit giggly and day-dreamy. "What--?!"

Jami blinked. "I'm still confused."

"I love you," Drina whimpered.

"Something pulled at my hair!" he said, looking around for whatever it was "It felt like a bird or something"

It took me a moment but I figured out exactly what it was. Stunned, hurt, and confused, I looked over at my friends--Corie more so than Padfoot. "Why?" my expression said. "Couldn't you have let me have my Cinderella moment?!" I looked back up at David. "Odd," I said, pretending like I had no clue what had happened. "Really...odd..."

Taylor laughed and looked at her, "I wasn't 'oi'ing at that. I was oiing at Prongs. I actually would like to congratulate you," she beamed at her.

Jami blinked. "I'm still confused."

"I love you," Drina whimpered

Lizzie snorted, "Big surprise there, Captain Clueless!"

"Love you too," Katie smiled down at her littlest sister.

She returned the smile, "That really does sound great," Ever said with a nod, "Definitely more exciting than having to bear the bore of a village!"

Jami pouted. "Thanks," he grunted. He glanced around. "Hey, where'd Timmy go?"

Drina looked up at her and sniffled again; she was smiling, but sniffling. She rubbed her eyes a few times and laughed. "I can't stop cryin'," she complained.

David shrugged, smiling "Do you want to go out front? To the garden?" Which, lucky David, was the exact opposite direction Noah was in.

Corie bared her fangs in return to Heather's look--not in the hostile way that some people may have thought-- but the way that was showing that she had no choice. She turned to Padfoot, "I'm gonna go." She muttered, "I need to blow off some steam, before I break something." She finished, walking out of the ballroom.

I sort of understood. I mean, I knew sometimes she just couldn't help herself. But it still hurt to know it was her fault. I looked up at him with a soft sigh. "Okay," I said quietly with a nod, taking his hand. "Lead the way,"

Jami pouted. "Thanks," he grunted. He glanced around. "Hey, where'd Timmy go?"

Drina looked up at her and sniffled again; she was smiling, but sniffling. She rubbed her eyes a few times and laughed. "I can't stop cryin'," she complained.

Lizzie shrugged and turned back to Cassie and Lauren. The three of them started talking but Lauren and Lizzie were also talking.

'How do you know about that?' 'I saw it myself... I was two feet away.' 'You mad?' 'Cha!'

"It's okay, I am too," she laughed, tears on her cheeks. "It's cause I'm so happy to be back, not to have to hear Lizzie complain and to sleep!"

She noticed how calm he was all of the time. She wished she could keep her emotions in check like that. "Yeah, it did. But things could have been worse," she said with a shrug.

Derrick nodded in agreement with that, "There's always something worse than what's going on at the moment."

David lead her out the door, and with a final glare at her two friends, he had a hunch they were to do with it, he exited and lead her towards the garden


Noah was at the exact opposite direction of them, sitting in the grass with his knees to his chest and head rest on his knees.

Corie walked over to Noah, sitting down beside him. She said, "You know, if it cheers you up a little, I went bat and almost pulled some of his hair out." She smiled a bit, it was a sheepish smile. "You want to talk about it?" She asked, "If you want... I can leave."

Jami sighed deeply. "Okay, ignore me, I'm cool with that," he grunted sarcastically.

Drina giggled and kissed Katie. "Can I sleep in your room tonight?" the child yawned. She kept her arms looped around her next and she smiled at her.

I sighed softly, silently. Why didn't Noah seem to like him? Or Corie? What was wrong with him? At the moment, I was blind; he was perfect. Or so I thought.

"Thanks" He said with a sigh, chewing on his lip "I don't really feel like talking about it that much but...you can stay" He looked over at her, smiling slightly, but it was a sad smile

David lead her to a bench and sat down, waiting for her to sit beside him.

I sat down next to him. For a moment, I was silent. Then; "I'm sorry about what happened back there. I have a feeling it was just one of my friends...er...joking around,"
