RACE AGAINST MACHINES
My name is Akeria. At least, that's what you can call me. I'm an opinionated writer. You don't have to read what I have to say, but take into consideration, you might want to listen. Use your ears, all of your senses as you read my blog posts. More often than not, they're deeper than what they appear.

THREE DOWN; FIVE TO GO
Poem of The Day
Twas the night before finals,
And all through the college,
The students were praying
For last minute knowledge.
Most were quite sleepy,
But none touched their beds,
While visions of essays
Danced in their heads.
Out in the taverns,
A few were still drinking,
And hoping that liquor
Would loosen up their thinking.
In my own room,
I had been pacing,
And dreading exams
I soon would be facing.
My roommate was speechless,
Her nose in her books,
And my comments to her
drew unfriendly looks.
I drained all the coffee,
And brewed a new pot,
No longer caring that
my nerves were shot.
I stared at my notes,
But my thoughts were muddy,
My eyes went ablur,
I just couldn't study.
"Some pizza might help,"
I said with a shiver,
But each place I called
Refused to deliver.
I'd nearly concluded
That life was too cruel,
With futures depending
On grades had in school.
When all of a sudden,
our door opened wide,
And Patron Saint Put It Off
Ambled inside.
His spirit was careless,
His manner was mellow,
All of a sudden,
He started to bellow.
"On Cliff notes, on Crib Notes
On last year Exams.
On Wingit and Slingit
And Last Minute Crams."
His message delivered
he vanished from sight.
But we heard him laughing
Outside in the night.
Your teachers have pegged you
So just do your best.
Happy Finals to All
And to all a Good Test.

What I Really Have To Say Today
Yesterday was so crazy! And the sad part is; I slept right through it. See, I had a final at 7:20 in the morning, but that was the only one that I had, so I was home by 9:30. Then I slept... Until four in the afternoon. Heh. Apparently, I was quite tired. I'm still quite tired, but I went to bed at three in the morning last night, just on a whim. I was mad at my mom, because she had said that I could sleep at my friend Kevin's house, and then yesterday she decided that I couldn't. Make up your mind, mother.
But aside from that, I really haven't done anything super interesting over the last few days. Work. School. THREE MORE DAYS AND THEN THERE'S NO MORE SCHOOL.
Until next year, of course. But hey; I'll be a junior in high school. Who cares about school, right? Me. I do.
I'm going to go eat a bagel and go to work now.

Is Kevin a guy? Cuz...whoa.....
Re: RACE AGAINST MACHINES (JUNE NINETEENTH TWO THOUSAND TEN) --- Three Down; Five To Go
Even if he is, Smirf, they could be like brother and sister. As long as they're just friends, what's the problem?
I loved the poem! (:

Hahaha your poem made me giggle. = )
And my parents used to be wierd like that about guy-girl sleepovers, too!(then the whole issue was solved when I realized I was severely annoyed by my friends with Y-chromosomes, so I just didn;t bother going xP. But I'm sure you like your friends.)

Smirf - Yes, Kevin is a guy... He's like my best friend. I don't think I've ever met a female Kevin...
Emily - I loved that poem too! It made me laugh. And we are like best friends.
Newms - See, I love Kevin. That's the thing, he's like one of my bestestestest friends; and I don't get to see him during the year because he lives on the other side of the state, but usually we end up staying at our friend's house all summer.
