I see your broken heart, I hear your strangled cries
I know what your not saying by looking in your eyes
I know that you're hurt, I know that you're broken
I can hear the hidden words that were never spoken

I know that it's hard, and I know how much it hurts
I'm sorry that I couldn't bring any sort of comfort
I wish that there was something, anything, I could do
To take away the sting and help you make it through

But I know that I can't help, that's becoming very clear
As the strangled cries die down, as they change into tears
I can't mend your broken heart, there's nothing I can do
Because, though you may not see, my heart is broken too
