Misplaced - Original Version *an unfinished American Dragon fanfiction that won’t be continued*

Okay, so I can’t find the beginning. xD But what had happened was that the Huntsman and Jake were fighting, and the Huntsman spilled some potion thing on Jake. He got away just before he was turned into a dog. So he went home and hid under his sister’s bed because it was cleaner than under his own, and used his dream bracelet to talk to Fu Dog and find out what’d happened.

And this is exactly the way I’d written it originally. I was eleven, and I sucked.

Anyway, it’s kinda pointless, but I just wanted to post this cus I felt like sharing my first official story. xD The one that became Misplaced, and was the original inspiration for Dragon Soul.

Jake Long Pt. III

When Jake lift Fu Dog’s dream, it was morning. Turned out, he had wasted his whole night in his dream. He waited till Haily and his parents were gone, then he left. He found himself walking to where Rose lived. He “said” to himself, “What are you doing! Huntsman will kill you!” “But he doesn’t know what the dog looks like! Cool! I’ll go!”. When he got there, Rose had just left. He waited in the alley until Rose got back. When Rose saw him, she was all over him. Jake thought, “This might be nice living here.” Rose went to Huntsman and said, “I’m asking this as your niece; can we please keep the dog?” “All right, as your Uncle. As your master, “fine, but it better behave.” Rose named him Hunter. [A note from the author - I made the Huntsman secretly be Rose’s uncle, so yah. xD]

Rose took Hunter to the backyard for a run. She knew Jake was “lost,” and she started singing full-blown concert-style, “Since U Been Gone.” [A note from the author - this was written before I realized the point of the song. xD I thought it was something like the girl was heartbroken before the guy left.] Jake as a dog didn’t know how to talk like Fu Dog did, so in the house, he started howling and trying to do his dragon dance routine. [Another note - he’s like a dancer for some reason in the story. xP] That brought surprised looks from Rose, who was reading a book. Jake really liked being Rose’s dog. But a few days later, he was having a stroll, when the dog pound captured him. All the other dogs were able to talk to him and vice versa, even though he still understood human!

And that’s the farthest I’d gotten with it. x3 But I did have the ending all planned out - it was gonna end up with Rose realizing who Jake was, finally, and that somehow broke the spell and made him himself again. So it’s not exactly like Misplaced, but Misplaced had the same concept.

And this inspired DS because DS was originally a mix of this story and a Hannah Montana fanfic. The HM story being one that was never written, but will always be in my mind. I’d just like to make sure you know, though - while DS definitely had Hannah Montananess on WI, I’ve changed it drastically since it was posted, and now it’s not a fanfic at all. Anything that even reminds me of the Hannah Montana plots or characters is being stripped out and replaced with stuff similar but different, so that it’s its own story now. So I just want to make sure you know that I am not in any way planning on plagiarizing ADJL or HM by attempting to publish it as a fanfic; I doubt you would recognize the HMness at all unless you were an obsessed fan who looked for the little things like that, the way I was. x3 And as for the ADJL aspects, well, it never had much of that in the first place; it was just the whole dragons stuff and the romance that I liked, so I made a story out of it. (Although now that I think about it, the whole thing where Kayla and Jake both are dragons is the same. xD But that’s the only direct similarity.)

And yeah, I only knew that DS was originally fanficcy because you told me. I mean, I recognize that she has a guy friend and a girl friend as well as a lover like HM does but so do a trillion other people in the universe. I wouldn't have even made the connection if I didn't know. Besides, I've only watched Hannah Montana like once so I had to think really hard about it.

XP Anyway, this story is pretty decent even though you did it when you were younger!
