Waterfall:




I'm caught,

in this flood filled with other peoples
ideals.

Carried,

in a current of voices,

collectively drowning out mine.

I don't want to go this way.

I dig my heels into the bottom,

but I'm swept down-stream.

I pull hard against dark water with my
arms,

but the current is too strong.

Rushing towards the tumbling falls,

I scream.

And my soul rips out of me,

abandoning me,

just like all the rest.

The water is dark and enticing,

slipping around me like smooth oil.

I want to rest,

and let go of my voice so it won't get
swallowed again.

I submit to the water's caress.

Sink deep beneath the billowing waves.

I'm swept over the falls,

to the shadowy rocks below.

I know, my mom read some of my poetry, and was all over me for being depressed. I'm like "Mom, really. I'm fine" xD

Slowest Suicide:
I'm killing myself slowly,

gazing at you.

Searching,

not finding.

The slowest form of suicide.

Tearing away,

is tearing at my heart.

You're killing me softly,

from afar,

without your knowledge.

So close,

so far.

I could reach out,

but I don't,

and I die a bit more inside.

Love is the slowest form of suicide.

commas.

Maybe a period or two.

Even an exclamation mark would be
welcome.

But I'm sick of these questions.

Filling my life with their stupid
nuances.

I'd like a statement.

No doubts.

No “maybes”.

No questions.

Not lame! I like it . . . it seems very real.

Smoke:
Love like smoke,
slipping through my fingers.
Smoke of a thousand fires,
burning to ashes.
My heart empties,
makes room,
then fills again,
with this useless, lovely ghost of a thing.
Howls fill my mind.
Shrieks resonating through my bare soul.
But it's all wispy,
fake,
and nothing I want anymore of.
The smoke surrounds me,
blinding me.
But it's addicting.
I breathe it in,
trying to fill myself with something again.
But it's thin,
and fills me not.
So I lie here,
trying to breathe,
as my pupils fade to pin-points.
And the smoke surrounds me still.
