Valentine's Day (I fail at finding a better title. Dx Ideas, anyone?)

I'm sorry, darling, but I tried
It wasn't my fault that they lied

At one point, love became too much
I realized that it's not enough

To like, to laugh, to yearn, to cry
Then to have to say goodbye

It's just not worth the risk, you see
To be who they want you to be

But life is life and hearts are hearts
And sometimes love is pulled apart

No matter what they think of you
They'll always judge on what you do

So I guess you're not my Valentine?
Well that's okay, I'll be just fine

I've got my Ben & Jerry's and
Some old CDs on my night stand

You better hurry, it's almost time
I'll be here if you change your mind

I'm really sorry it has to be this way
I thought anyone could love on Valentine's Day

If you don't like the title, maybe something like Ruined Valentine? I can't seem to get the right word in my head, but replace ruined with it and I think that'd be a really cool name. xD Broken Valentine isn't quite it either . . . xP

Especially the Ben and Jerry's part. I know where that came from... haha. Very Happy

I was thinking the title could be like, 'I thought' or 'Anyone' or something like that since it's the last part of the poem.

For title suggestions, Maybe "To Say Goodbye," or something from the third and fifth verses. That's where I was looking to help you out.

This is so sad, but it's gorgeous. :3 I really like how you can mix poetic words with casual words... Like even though it's a poem, the way you put in "Ben & Jerry's" perfectly fit in with it. nod
