Dyl+Max=Fang coming back because he hates Dyl's guts.
Dyl+____=0 'Cause Max keeps her distance, Fang never comes back, and he's yours.

Wait, there's another possibility! :O Max goes looking for Fang, Dylan follows her, Max finds Fang kissing Amanda, Max runs off all mad and falls off a cliff and accidentally dies, and Dylan gets heartbroken until he meets Shadow who is extremely undecided so he's following her around like a poor little puppy and she's just totally oblivious.
