Never love a wild thing

WILD THING
- Today I stand before you
A broken heartless mess
My hands are scratched and bruised
My mind is just a guess
The days before I lost my smile
Before I lost my hope
I was such a happy girl
With the world, I could cope
But then I made such a mistake
I lost all sense of control
I fell heart first for someone
Who just gave my heart a hole
I couldn’t help but love him
He said he loved me back
Then I gave my heart for him
Just to find his heart was black
I knew where we were headed
But I wouldn’t give in
I told myself he was all I needed
I think that lie might’ve been a sin
One rainy day I ran to him
The storm disguised my tears
He held me and sang me to sleep
Then left me for all these years
I can’t say that I don’t miss him
I can’t say that I don’t hate him
All I can say is that I love him still
I wish our tale wasn’t so grim
Listen to my warning
Try to save your heart
Never love a wild thing
It just tears you apart
