An Escape

An escape from the chaos,
And wars of this place,
I need to go far away,
Gone with no trace.

Not much is left,
I fear I’m too late,
Where is there love,
In this world full of hate?

Everyday,
More are destroyed.
We entice one another,
Use emotions as toys.

So tell me, oh, wise one,
Where can I find,
The truth in this place,
That is filled up with lies.

Can it be possible?
Is there good left to see?
Or is there just bad,
Beyond understanding?

And yet, I realize,
There’s more to it than that.
Good always trumps evil,
In good times and bad.

Please strive for good,
And peace in the end.
Listening to others,
Can make you a friend.

Even in the darkest times,
Faith will light the way.
Even when you don’t believe,
You will have an escape.
