"Dust, how do you know they haven't moved on by now? It's been moons."

I opened my jaws but she lashed her tail for silence, her ears pricking. Then her eyes lit up. "I hear voices from that way," she breathed, motioning to the left.

Too young to realize the two cats behind the bushes, she began pawing playfully at Twister. Loud enough for the other cats to hear, she said "Twister come on! Just because you are a runt doesn't mean you can't fight! Besides, Ratpelt and Stonefire are nowhere nearby so we can fight as we please!"

Ice emerged on the other side, effectively cutting off the kits' escape. But I wasn't going to make them want to escape. I conjured up my nicest smile and beamed at the kits. "Hello."
