Cieradhiel was taken aback by the language he used—not what he spoke in,
but what he said with it. In reality she chose not to pay attention to the Eu-
ropean languages all that much, and only studied four of them: English, which
was practically the default Kami language nowadays, Spanish, which just came
along as life did since it was so simple, Maltese, as it happened to have some
Arabic origins, and Latin, which was where her etymology skills kicked in. Those
Latin studies were what she was using then to figure out what the hey Warui
had said. "Sabe" was a form of the word "know" in Spanish, "esta" being very
similar to the Spanish word for "this" and obviously "língua" meant "language".
"Cérebro" sounded like "cerebrum", so that must have meant "brain", and the
majority of European languages used "de" ("of") in replacement of possessives.
"Cabeçada"... That was like one of the Spanish words for "butt" (cabezada).
Ah, what wonderful insults.
"Oke, Pòtigè Shinigami, omwen mwen gen youn!"
Cieradhiel replied with a harsh tone. Her Haitian Creole may not have been qu-
ite perfect, as it was a tongue that was of a more recent study, but it was pr-
etty decent considering just how recent that study was. From there she waited
for Warui to identify the language she had spoken in and perhaps choose again
for himself.

Cieradhiel rose that thin line of fur again, disappointed with the fact she'd spoken
with slight flaws. If she had spoken correctly, he would have known she meant
to say something along the lines which suggested that Warui lacked a brain. So
that meant when she was about to speak Indonesian in return, she would have
to hint at it once more. Unfortunately the whole use of etymology was starting
to bore her, though she used it anyway to translate his Italian—which really was
going to be the easiest case of all, since it was greatly relative to both English
and Latin. "Si" was "yes" of course, and "una molecola" was "a molecule". Then
there was "dimensione di", similar to "dimension of", so maybe that was referring
to the size of? Great, so now her brain was some puny little thing. Moving on,
based off of Spanish studies Cieradhiel could quickly identify "mine almeno" as
"mine at least", and the last two words were the most recognizable cognates
of all: "perfettamente funzionante" had to mean "perfect function". A smirk grew
on the Ikigami's face as a retort came to her. Without hesitation she replied,
"Oh ya, saya dapat memberitahu otak Anda melakukan pekerjaan
yang baik yang sebenarnya di melakukan apa-apa. Setelah semua,
yaitu satu-satunya fungsi otak tidak ada.
"
Cieradhiel remembered learning Indonesian when a fellow Ikigami returned from
retrieving his Life Note after it had been relinquished. He'd agreed to teaching
her as much as he could remember of it, and now she was taking those studies
to her advantage. In fact, she was taking every study of hers to her advantage
at that moment. There was one hope she had, and that was that he hadn't
learned how to speak Yue, which was the one language she couldn't use studies
or etymology to speak or decipher. In fact, the only word of that language she
knew was... well, yue, and it meant moon.

He said randomly, and wished for one. A burrito would
really hit the spot right now. He pondered flicking the Iki
and leaving to the human world to snatch a burrito, but thought
he should say goodbye, flick, kick, then leave.
"Well, it's been nice talking to you, scoun."
He used the language of the Na'vi, calling Cieradhiel a moron before
kicking her, flicking her, and taking off towards the entrance to the
human world.

Cieradhiel took on a perplexed expression, confused by the randomness of the
Shinigami. Well, that was part of it, anyway. The other part was the fact she
hadn't understood a word he'd said. What language was that, German? No, it
couldn't have been, they didn't use that many Zs. Or did they in some words?
Whatever, it probably didn't matter at all. And she didn't know what that last
word was either, but whatever it was, it couldn't have been good based off of
their conversation. All the negativity of the situation was really getting on the
Ikigami's nerves, and the physical violence pretty much snapped her. Cieradhiel
prepared to glide over and interrupt Warui, but before she got the chance to
lift her wings, the familiar voice of the Ikigami that had gotten her into the mess
rang from the heavenly side of the after realms.
"Wow, Ci, you actually did it! You can come back now."
Briefly she redirected her attention that way and shook her head to show she
wasn't done yet. The fellow Ikigami took on a surprised look as Cieradhiel lifted
her wings and took off with a flick of her tail towards the same entrance Warui
had headed for. She paused and left herself hovering a mere two feet behind the
Shinigami before speaking.
"Oh, it is, isn't it..."
A smirk grew on the Ikigami's face, and she continued in Japanese, a language
she knew that both of them could fluently understand, speak, write and read.
"Misutā muchi."

(Baka.....oh. Right.)

He heard the last comment before entering the portal into the human world.
That nasty little thing. I should...I should write her name in my Death Note.
And so he did. He stole a pen from a human and started to write Cieradhiel's name in the notebook.

Just out of curiosity, and to make sure violence didn't erupt, Cieradhiel peeked
through the portal to the mortal world and spied upon Warui once more. She
noticed he'd taken a pen and scribbled something inside that sinful ash black
notebook he carried around. It was unlikely he was writing down her name...
or was he? Was that how he was going to play this game? There were only
forty seconds to find out, and there was a fifty fifty chance she wasn't going
to get the chance to. Cieradhiel figured it wouldn't be a good idea to depart
from the Kami realms with so few deeds completed.
And so few names in that Life Note of hers...
Curiosity bubbled up in her empty chest. What happened if a Shinigami's name
was written in a Life Note? Last she checked there wasn't a record of anybody
ever doing such a preposterous thing. It wasn't like she was going to linger all
that much longer, so why not find out? Without hesitation, knowing that time
was ticking, Cieradhiel shot over to that fellow Ikigami of hers and asked for the
pen she'd stolen from the past, and once it was quickly retrieved she wrote in
Katakana the Shinigami's name. Leaving no opening for questions, she said to
that other Ikigami that it may have been her last few seconds in the realms of
the Kami. Gently Cieradhiel returned the pen—and it happened.

[Just checking before I start getting into detail with Ci here, do you think the process should appear to be something similar to when a Shinigami dies, or should it work like a shapeshifter, or did you have something else in mind?

(I think it should be how it's like when a Shini dies. nod)

Warui grinned evilly at the thought of that nasty Ikigami
dying, and he flew back through the portal in time to see
her writing in her Life Note. Wait, was she writing his
name? Growling, he looked over her shoulder briefly. Sure
enough, she was. He braced himself for something either
painful or painless. Or maybe nothing would happen. He
wasn't that sure.

[Okay then. nod Hehe, I like the term Shini. It's like giving a code that says 4-2, and if you add a "ju" after the shi it says forty-two which is one of the greatest numbers ever. x3
... And I'll stop rambling now and post this crappy little reply. xD]

Cieradhiel whipped her head around to see that the Shinigami had returned from
whatever duties he'd left to perform—other than killing her, anyway. A smirk came
close to reappearing on her furry face the split second before the sensation of her
death came upon her. She blinked in surprise as something inside her hollow chest
felt like it had imploded. It was true that Death Notes handed out heart attacks to
people, but since she was a God, it was kind of hard to give her that kind of death
sentence. Quickly Cieradhiel realized that wasn't going to be it as she felt the ner-
ves in her limbs tingle into sleep and soon enough die off, cell by cell swiftly disint-
egrating and falling apart: all things she could tell without even looking. Ci knew, or
at least was pretty sure, her head would fade away last, so she took her last few
moments to give her newfound rival Shinigami a final message as a Kami.
"Let's see how ignorant you are, now, shall we?"
And soon enough Cieradhiel had completely disappeared, the individual grains of
life falling to the earth, gradually placing themselves together into a small, defen-
seless female mortal.

He coughed as the sand blew past him into the human world.
Soon his body began to almost melt into the ground, but was
sand, not liquid Shinigami. He felt no real pain until he lost his
writing arm, and a white-hot burning sensation tickled him pai
nfully. He closed his eyes right before the tickle crept up to his
head. Warui lay on the ground, a pile of dust. The dust flew
about, finally going through the portal into the human world.
Warui felt life coming back to him, and the dust began to form
a new being, a new Warui.

Cieradhiel could feel a breath creep through to her renewed lungs, the oxygen
splitting up to either become carbon dioxide to leave the body or to transfer to
the blood that flowed through her veins. Soon enough a heart began to beat, and
muscles began to awaken and awareness became evident in a brightening mind,
concluding with the opening of her eyelids to expose two weary and hopeless icy
blue eyes.
Wait... I'm alive?
That was the first thought that crossed the once-Ikigami's mind as she struggled
to stand up. Something didn't feel right. Uneasiness leaking into Cieradhiel's mind,
she looked as far down as she could and saw two bare, paler than snow feet.
Feet.
"I couldn't be..."
The feeble whisper crawled out of her lips. At this point she had nothing but fear
and concern running through her mind as she dropped to her knees, conveniently
by a lake. Something golden fell in front of her sight, and she swept it away har-
shly as she stared into her murky reflection. Sure enough there was a small heart
shaped face staring back at her, with platinum curls making a background and
making her cold, pale blue-white eyes darker than they really were. Cieradhiel
hated to admit it, but she had no choice: she looked exactly like she did four
million fifty years ago, when she was a young girl who didn't know what to do with
some delicate pearly notebook that hit her in the head after falling from the sky.
"... I couldn't be... Delilah?"
Yes, yes she was. She couldn't deny it. Without a doubt, Cieradhiel was no more.
From this day forth her name was once more Delilah Chlead. That couldn't mean
anything good. With no better plan in mind after the horrifying news, the girl knelt
down to pick up her Life Note, which she was surprised to have maintained posse-
ssion of, and sprinted through the countryside she'd been mortalized in without
looking back. She had no idea how old she was, what she fully looked like, where
she was, if her identity had been procreated, if nobody knew of her existence...
For the first time in nearly four million years, Delilah—or was she Cieradhiel? She
didn't even know that—was lost.

Warui opened his eyes to the world, and he felt small and vulnerable
for the first time since he became a Shinigami. Looking downwards,
he saw his knees, and human hands supporting his weight so he woul
dn't fall from his knees.
"No..."
The whisper escaped his lips.
I can't be human. I just can't.
He started to hyperventilate, the oxygen and carbon dioxide rushing in
and out quickly. He stood up shakily, and looked around at his body. It
was....human.
"No."
He repeated again, a bit firmer this time.
"I'm not a human. Not after so many millennium. I am not human!"\
He shouted to the world, not caring who heard him. Without warning,
tears slowly began to leak from his eyes. He had become Waru once
again. Waru the orphan with no last name. Warui-no, Waru-wiped the
tears away with a cold, clammy hand. He pressed the dark hand to his
face, feeling human skin once again. Not the patch skin from before.
His anger grew, and so did his hatred for Cieradhiel, the Ikigami.
"I hate you, Cieradhiel."
He growled, his voice full with chagrin.
"I hate you with every cell in my puny human body."
Closing his eyes, Waru pondered if the Ikigami had become morta
lized, too. He opened them, and a black notebook wason the ground.
He picked it up, feeling déja vu. It was like when he had been the lonely
Waru, an orphan, and stumbled across the notebook, becoming a villian.
But then he had been shot dead by the police, gone mad with power and
anger at his parents for deserting him. Closing his eyes again, Waru deci
ded to use the notebook in a more inconspicuous way.
I will kill all the people who resemble Cieradhiel.
He decided, but then backtracked.
If she was mortalized, though, then she will probably have her Life Note.
He swore, but then had another thought.
Maybe she wasn't mortalized.
Filled with that happy thought, Waru began to sprint across the plain he
had arrived in, as free as a bird.

Post by Cyn431 7/6/2010, 7:27 pm

Delilah came to an abrupt halt from her run as thoughts of deeper clarity began
to enter her mind. At that moment she stood and swayed so perfectly in sync
with the world around her, she could have been mistaken for another blade of
tall grass, considering she was a mere four feet and six inches in height and just
about as pale and nearly as skinny (yes, she was dangerously skinny). If the
Life Note's powers worked on Shinigami similar to how the Death Note's powers
had worked on her and most likely any other Ikigami, that meant Warui would
have once more become a mortal himself and would still have his Death Note. A
troubled sigh shook out of her as the temperature seemed to drop ten degrees
in a matter of seconds, sending a shiver down her spine and her chest trembling.
This was one of the disadvantages of being an Ikigami at any point in your life:
if at one time in an Ikigami's life they suffered the extremely rare misfortune that
Delilah was the same time a Shinigami was, then the once-deity of life would be
unable to seek revenge on the other while the once-deity of death could kill the
other former Kami whenever he desired, granted he had the human name of who
he wanted to kill. That meant Delilah would have to take as many precautions as
possible to make sure her name didn't get leaked to whoever Warui had become.
But were there more than she'd originally expected?
Delilah blinked as the possibility came to her. There were senses that Kami had
that few mortals possessed, whether it be the eyes of the Shinigami, the smelling
of the Ikigami, or perhaps both. She got on her tippy toes to scan right over the
tips of the tall blades of grass, searching for a sign of human life. After a minute
she could tell there wasn't any within a range in which it would interfere with her
plan. Lightly Delilah closed her eyes and pictured the face of one of her descendants,
if countless-great grandnieces and grandnephews were considered descendants,
and sniffed the air, waiting to see if she could retrieve a name and remaining life
span.

[I'll cut off here to ask two things. 1: Should they still have these abilities? And 2: If they're in the same place, where should they be city/country wise, and would it matter where they are if they aren't in the same place?]

(1. I think not, because then they would basically still be Kami's. nod 2. Maybe they should be in Japan somewhere, as most of our characters are from Death Note, which takes place in Japan. nod For the second part....I don't know. xP)

Waru sighed as he grew tired, and sat down. Being a human wasn't
easy. You exhausted very quickly, and needed rest for almost the
whole day. Waru sighed again, thinking of the negatives of being a
human.
Think of the positives.
He told himself, and thought.
No more using the Death Note for life.
He noted, and grinned at that. But then another thought interrupted.
What if a Shinigami kills me?
Waru started to hyperventilate, but then remembered that Shinigami
had their eyes and would know that he had a Death Note. Then Waru
had a thought. Was he his own Shinigami now? Or was the King his
Shinigami?
Waru didn't know.

[Ah, I see. That works for me. nod And as for the human she may or may not see, just pointing out beforehand I don't care if that's actually somebody or if it's some random dude or if it's Warui or if it's L or... *continues rambling ... Yeah. xD]

Delilah gave up and let her eyes slowly open to the weak, mortal world around
her. So she didn't have the sense of smell any longer. That must mean that Warui,
wherever he may be, didn't have his Shinigami eyes. A sigh of relief escaped her thin,
pale lips at the thought. It wasn't like he would have been able to distinguish her as
Cieradhiel, granted Shinigami weren't able to see middle names. If they could, then he
may have gotten the idea from her middle name being Sierra, which sounded exactly
like the first three syllables of her Ikigami name. But no matter. He couldn't see her
name, so why would there be any reason to worry? That was, until a thought struck
her still rather large brain.
Shinigami can see my name, so what if one of them comes around to killing me when
they see me with a Life Note? They probably wouldn't hesitate.

Delilah hadn't been sure if she'd seen a human from the corner of her eye, but she
spun around quickly to hide the fear she had felt flooding into her facial expression.
If that happened... What would be thought of her, a girl who died three times? Well,
no, it would be four if she died again: she died her first time, then one of the Ikigami
brought her back, and during that second lifetime she'd gained a Life Note only to die
again many years later, and technically what had happened within the past half hour
was death, so being killed again would make it four, and she most likely wouldn't be
granted admission back to the Ikigami realm, so it would stay as four. How many kids
got the opportunity to do that? Very few, and those that aren't part of the very few
are very lucky, as Delilah classified them.
"But what if Warui didn't become mortal at all?"
She'd accidentally blurted her next thought, and also slipped up a tiny mouse-like
squeak as she took cover amongst the tall grasses. All Delilah had to do was bend
her knees a little bit and she was completely obscured, but she was never one to do
the chair exercise, so she went ahead and took a seat next to the dirt and bugs on
the grassy floor. Considering where she was, and the possibility that there was a
human she'd spotted earlier from the corner of her eye, somebody in the area would
become suspicious if they found her. And that was the last thing she needed in her
situation. Or at least as she thought. So for the time being she stiffly say and waited
to see if she was busted or if she would get away with her flaws.

Waru sat down in the plain, thinking deeply. He had a lot of unanswered questions.
Do I have a Shinigami, and if so, who?
Was Cieradhiel mortalized, too?
Where am I?
The list continued on, but he stopped when the last one came up.
"I wonder..."
Waru looked around the spot where he had...appeared in.
"Am I in my birthplace, Japan, or somewhere else?"
He thought out loud, and then stood up. He walked around, and tried to find any
thing familiar.

Delilah could have sworn she felt a spider crawl up and try to bite her elbow,
and without intentions to give the arachnid a second chance, the pale girl
shot up into a standing position. Even when standing, nothing below her icy
blue eyes was visible, barring her hand when she used it to brush away a
stray strand of curly platinum blonde hair. Whether this meant she was done
for or not was something she'd have to find out in about forty seconds. In
the meantime Delilah chose to wonder about her location. Where was she,
anyway? The Gregorian calendar foretold that it was more of a Tropic-of-
Cancer month (or at least she was pretty sure), meaning the Northern half
of the world was in summer. Judging by the way her skin felt, or at least the
parts without clothing, it actually felt pretty decent. If she were to make an
assumption, she'd say it was room temperature. So that must have meant she
was somewhere towards the northern part of the hemisphere. Delilah knew
she couldn't be around Siberia, she definitely wasn't that far north, but it was
somewhere not too far below that most likely. And judging by what she saw
around her...
Briefly Delilah blinked. It couldn't have been her dream land to live? It couldn't
have been... Could it have been? Japan? Lightly the mortal sighed, glancing at
her surroundings. There probably couldn't be a whole lot in a tall grassland that
would reveal what country she was in. Unless for some reason the Tokyo Tower
was in sight, or Mt. Fuji. Maybe the latter could be found in a plain, but probably
not the Tokyo Tower. That was just too deep in an urban area. Even with all
the curiosity building up, Delilah refused to move from her stance, as she still
wasn't positive she was fully safe from a pair of eyes yet. There was a chance
she could still be concealed considering her height.

[Is this getting anywhere? xD]

... fallen from grace - Page 2 Empty Re: ... fallen from grace

Twarry aimlessly walked around Japan, and wondered what she should do.
She remembered her mom telling her to pick up some batteries for her new
camera, so she had to do that. All of her friends were gone for vacation,
and she had no boyfriend to hang out with. No crush to talk to, either.
Twarry sighed. Why was summer always so...boring?
Warui found one familiar thing, and almost trilled like a girl with joy.
He was in Japan! Wonderful, wonderful Japan. It was definitely better
then America, what with the crime rate and economy there. When he
thought about it, Canada wouldn't be too bad, either. But Japan just...
what did the younger humans say? Powned. Or rather, pwned. Yes.
Japan pwns.
He thought giddily.

(I don't think so. I put me in there so maybe Cieradhiel could meet her? xP)

[Okay dokay, then. I guess I should throw myself out there for Waru to meet up with so he can get some interaction. [At first that seemed odd, but then I realized my name sounds like sin. xD]

Delilah was pretty sure she was safe at one point, and began running forward to
find out if her childhood dreams were beginning to come true. Even if they weren't,
it felt good to have the thin chartreuse blades of grass brushing against her skin
like they were trying to greet her to the world. Oh, Delilah hadn't remembered until
then how much she missed the nature of Earth and how lively it was—or at least
as lively as possible before pesky humans got in the way and destroyed it. But dark
thoughts aside, she had to find out if it was true.
Without even noticing, she was there. Society thrived right before her eyes. The
architecture screamed the answer out to her small alert ears: welcome to Japan. A
gasp surged into Delilah's body at the sight. She'd always considered Japan to be
breathtaking, and this was solid enough proof.
"I... It's beautiful."
The words whispered thinly, muffled to the rest of the world due to a slight breeze
(yes, she had been that quiet). Reality soon slapped her in the face, and Delilah shot
her gaze downward. She was adequately dressed, wearing a floppy indigo blouse and
light grey Capri's, but considering she had platinum curls, wide icy blue eyes and she
was barefoot, there was no possible way she could be passed as a normal person
living in Japan. There was just no way. Well, maybe she could be a tourist, but who
was the last tourist anyone saw that walked around a foreign country without any
shoes on? That pretty much explained her little dilemma right there.
How can I obtain footwear in this place without acting sinfully?
She asked her mind's newly born voice, also known as a conscience. Without knowing
it, Delilah began to walk forward, lucky enough to have crossed the street without
getting ran over by something. Unfortunately her luck ran out after she had gotten
across, walking right into another pedestrian.
"Uh—sorry,"
the once-Ikigami stammered, a little bit of warmth trickling into her cheeks as she
straightened out the newly created wrinkles in her lousy shirt. Well, lousy for a girl
in Japan, anyway.

Cyn strolled around the land of Japan, foolishly keeping her eyes glued onto the text of
the book she was reading instead of the sidewalk, even though she had pretty much
memorized how many blocks and how many turns there were on the path that went
from her apartment somewhere in the Kanto region to the store she was headed for.
She'd forgotten to glance up when it came time to cross the street, and if it hadn't
been for a nearby trill, she would have trance walked right into a bus. But that high
pitched sound caught her attention, and Cyn halted right in her tracks with her head
snapped up from the sudden noise that had broken the barrier between her world and
the one that mattered. With the bookmark keeping record of the page she had just
looked up from, she slowly closed it and looked around curiously. Was that a sound
out of joy, pain or fear? Briefly she cast her gaze forward. The store was only five
doors away, or at least it would be once she crossed the street. Oh, heck, she'd
remember where this corner was. The curiosity getting the best of her, Cyn began
to walk around in search of the source of the feminine noise.

Waru covered his mouth, a bit embarrassed. What if someone had heard him
trill? That would be horrible. He might get angry enough if they teased him to
use the Death Note...but probably not. He shrugged and continued down the
pathway he was on.
Twarry looked upwards to the person who had interuppted her thoughts. She smiled.
"It's alright."
She said, and then looked at the deep purple-no, indigo, she corrected-blouse
the girl was wearing. It was her favorite color, and it was a pretty design.
The wrinkles ruined it a little though. Well, whatever.

(I'm just assuming that She bumped into her? If not, I'll edit my post. :3)
