The Twilight Saga; Chapter 3; Something Is Stirring

Jodi's eyes snapped open automatically, and for a split second, they were red. It was a sort of frightening red, the same exact color as blood. But very quickly, the color drained out of her eyes like water. "What happened?" She whispered, completely unaware.

Cassandra smiled, giggling quietly, "I'm sorry I never really tried to bring him into perspective. I'll try, so next time when you do cough, he won't hospitalize you." Quickly, the smile faded, and she asked in a quiet voice. "How was Alec... while I was gone?"

"You kinda... froze up, and then you started screaming again." I whispered, trying to help her stay up. "Are you okay?"

I giggled, and got serious. "Um... he was... bad, Cass. Really bad. He... well, he wasn't himself. He just kind of... moped around and whispered your name. He wouldn't hunt, he wouldn't do... anything.
(May I be stolen by someone? XD)

Jodi rubbed the back of her head, a confused look on her face. She nodded, still confused. "Yes... I feel fine, so I guess..." She got up again.

Cassandra saddened slightly, and she looked down at her twiddling thumbs. "I never would have thought he would get so bad." She said quietly, glancing at the door, "I guess Maryann hurt all of us in a way." She added in a whisper.

Character Name: Aurelia Melborne
Species: Vampire
Looks: Stands at about 4"8, is very dainty, but you don't want to mess with her; she's actually a very strong little one.

Personality: Aurelia is mysterious, often likes to speak in riddles and stuff. She isn't that big of a talker, she'll usually talk with her eyes or her actions. But when she does, talk, though, she's an eloquent speaker. She is a very good liar; even some vampires that can tell the truth apart from a lie have trouble when it comes to her.
Soulmate: None
History: Her mother is Maryann, the two were known for doing witchcraft [Aurelia against her will]. Sometimes the innocent townspeople would get blamed and burned at the stake.
Age: Looks 14 or 15, but she's really over two centuries old.
Power: Unknown

"Are you sure?" I asked, still worried.

"I think he's fine now, though. He's hunting with Jasper." I sighed. "They still get on each others last nerves..."

Jodi nodded slowly, "But I best retire to my room.." She whispered, standing up, wobbling a bit, but quickly regaining her balance.

Cassandra nodded slowly, glad that Alec was hunting again. She didn't want him to feel pain; she didn't want anyone to feel pain. Sure, every now and again, she would have enjoyed slapping Maryann... and sometimes Jane, but more Maryann than Jane. She could handle her.
"Why do they dislike eachother so much?" She finally asked.

"Old ties." I sighed. "Alec was part of the Voultri, and Jasper was part of the Cullens. Still is, actually. Anyway, the Voultri and the Cullens have a history, and both of them we're true to their side. I wish they could just see their similarities...."

Cassandra nodded once, "The Volturi..." She repeated, having not heard the name of her previous clan in a long time. her hand slid under her shirt, and returned with her clan's insignia necklace in her hand. She hadn't touched it in a while; she just let it hang on her neck, under her shirt, unnoticed. She shuddered slightly.

I watched her leave, Jasper turning once. "Don't even try." He snarled, and followed Stephanie. Amanda's hand hung over his, and her bracelet slipped off her thin wrist. As they left, I picked it up. It was crystal, throwing rainbows in the light. On the side, in smooth script, was written For Amanda Noelle, With love, Jasper Whitlock. I slipped the bracelet into my pocket and slowly walked away.

Stephanie glanced back at Alec as they left, still a little paranoid. Her eyes were just in time to notice him taking in the bracelet . . . her eyes widened. What was he doing? Suddenly she realized - he loved her, too, didn't he? So of course he would take it, to remember her by.

Her eyes closed halfway as she hurried ahead of Jasper. Lucky Amanda. Why does everyone fall for her? And poor Alec . . . he's never going to get to be with who he loves, either. Like me.

She inspected her hands. I let Jacob slip right through my fingers. A small sigh came from her mouth. He probably doesn't even care anymore.

"Sorry." I mouthed quietly, and walked to [where Jodi's room is].

"Steph? Are you... okay? You look sad." I was on one of my good phases during the illness, where I felt bad, but could speak. I hoped Stephanie was okay. She looked like she was wanting someone from the past. "Steph? Are you wanting to go back?"

Jodi led her up the stairs quietly, "My power is premonitions. I believe that one of the Cullens has that power, no?"

Cassandra shook her head slowly, dropping the pendant and letting it fall back onto her chest. "You didn't hurt me." She replied in a whisper, "You just reminded me of what it was like back there." She finished, tucking the pendant necklace back under her shirt. "I've never told anyone what happened to me. Only Alec knows."

"Yes, her." Said Jodi with a nod, opening the door to her room, "It's like her power, except I can only see the horrible premonitions. I feel the pain. That's why I scream." She explained.

Cassandra looked up quickly, a slow smile spreading over her face. She shook her head, "No no no, I want to tell you." She said in a little whisper. "I've never told anyone else before."

"I see Maryann in some of them. She scares me." Admitted Jodi with a slight shudder, removing some of her bracelets and tucking them away in a small, simple little vanity box. "Mostly I've been seeing some about the Volturi. Sometimes, when I have the visions, part of myself travels there. Nobody has ever seen me-- but I think Aro can sense me."

Cassandra lifted her eyes from Amanda to Alec's face. Her heart fluttered in her chest like a baby bird, and she smiled weakly, standing up [her legs wobbling just a bit, like if she were a little Bambi] and she kissed Alec's forehead.

Jodi nodded, "Yes yes, I'm sure I'm fine." She replied, glancing over at her. "And are you?" It was common for her to speak in these kind of riddles.

Cassandra sat back down on her bed, in front of Amanda with her legs folded Indian style. She took out her Volturi necklace once more, and took it off of her neck, placing it in front of her. "I'd really like to tell you my past." She said at last, "Before I joined the Volturi-- before I turned into a vampire, actually."

Jodi turned, looking at her with a tilted head. "You can talk to me." She said quietly, "I can keep secrets."

Cassandra began her story with what she could remember; her birthday, some history on her family [father dying of some flu that was passed around in her village] and then what happened with Alec; the first time she saw him. She then went to when she was nine, when her mother died, and she was sent to the orphanage. "See this scar?" She asked, tilting her head to the left so Amanda could get a better look at the scar that ran from above her heart, around her neck, and to the small of her back.
