The Twilight Saga; Chapter 3; Something Is Stirring

"You can write it then; and then, once I read it, I'll put it in the shredder, in a bucket of water, and then let it scatter in the river. No one will be able to read it, then." Said Jodi, a mischievous look on her face.

"The orphanage." Replied Cassandra, tilting her head back to its normal position. "They beat us there. I must've done something wrong; and I got my punishment. A whipping. It left this, but of course it was much more painful. I spent the entire night crying from how much it was hurting me." She shuddered, "But then suddenly... the pain stopped. I felt numb, but for me at the time, that was a good thing. I fell asleep, and woke up in the morning with stitches."

Jodi tilted her head in a sympathetic way. "Nobody's listening." She informed him in a matter-of-fact kind of way.

Cassandra continued, up until Maryann had tried to kill her. That, she was not too specific on. In fact, she was very vague with all of her memories. "That's pretty much my depressing human life."

"Okay, okay." I smiled. "Jasper's just... not being himself. Yesterday, he lost control completly, for no apparent reason, but I think it was me. I'm the only human here. What else could set him off? I'm the reason for his suffering." I vented.

"That sounds horrible. Repulsive. Terrible." I sighed. "What happened after that?"

(TELL ABOUT THE SNOGGING)

Jodi sighed quietly, "For vampires like Jasper, feeding on humans for such a long time and then stopping... It's hard. It's like an addiction; like smoking. Sure, vampires need blood-- but only when we need it. Sometimes the thirst comes, but it's just your body wanting the blood. The thirst brings us pain."

Cassandra blushed faintly, putting the necklace back on. "The reason why me and Alec left the Volturi, was because Aro wouldn't let us be together." She whisper, "You see... ah, this is going to be embarrassing... Jane caught us--as she puts it-- 'snogging'."

Jodi sighed again, "You bring him happiness by being alive, though. Do you not?"

Cassandra giggled quietly, "But the part that really got them serious was when Caius caught us. Demetri and Jane were nothing compared to him." She turned a deep red.

"Steph? Are you... okay? You look sad." I was on one of my good phases during the illness, where I felt bad, but could speak. I hoped Stephanie was okay. She looked like she was wanting someone from the past. "Steph? Are you wanting to go back?"

She looked up with wide eyes at Amanda. "You're actually . . . coherant?" Normally she would've laughed a little after that, but Amanda was right - she was kinda sad. Stephanie twisted her finger in her long, dark brown hair, pushing it back a little, then opened the car door. "Well . . . um, yeah. I guess I'm okay." It was clear she wasn't, though, from the way she was mumbling and how she suddenly looked as if she was about to cry. "I don't need to go anywhere but home."

Stephanie bit her lip, climbing into the car. If she was a human, she probably would've been almost crying by now . . . romance was one of those things she got really emotional about. "Well, I'll be fine," she said assuredly, watching Amanda and Jasper as she waited for them to get into the car. "Really." The look in her eyes wasn't so convincing, she knew, but she didn't really want to admit she was so worked up over something so silly.

"Isn't it worth it in the end?" Jodi asked her curiously, wanting to hear what else Amanda had to say about her relationship with Jasper. "It doesn't matter when love is the case, no?"

"Embarrassing? Awkward?" Asked Cassandra, grinning sheepishly. "Scarred for life?" She added with a small laugh. She winced slightly when she pressed her hand to her hand to the scar on her shoulder. Now she started to realize that the pain was like a burning kind of pain.

Jodi looked up calmly, and nodded her head in greeting. "Hello, Jasper." She said, seeing Amanda's blushing and smiling very faintly.

Cassandra winced, removing her hand. "At this point I don't really know..." She whispered, glancing at the door. "I'm going to go see Sally." She decided, "I'm sure Jasper would like to spend some time with you, no?"

"What's with the dress? You look more beautiful than usual." He sighed and stroked my cheek. "There was a dance..." I muttered. "Oh? And you went without me? Who'd you dance with? Cowgirl or To-bi-as?" He teased. "Leach." I admitted. He chuckled.

"He's probably worrying." I admitted. "See ya later." I slipped out the door, and landed in Jasper's arms. "Eavesdropper." I accused. "Was not. I just heard Cassandra say that you should see me." He brushed my lips.

(You can play Jasper now. For both. )

Jasper smiled kindly, stroking her cheek. "I'm sorry I left so soon, Amanda-- but I'm sure there must be one last song left?" He offered her affectionately.

Cassandra stepped out of the room, and walked upstairs. Passing by Alec's room, she decided she could take a detour. She lifted her hand to the door, and quietly knocked. She was glad that she had at least made it the day after Christmas; she knew, at least, that she hadn't missed years of being here.

[And you play Alec, for the second. ]

"Adele and Abrielle might be able to arrange it." I whispered, lying my head against his chest. "If we ask them nicely."

"Cassandra." I whispered, her name rolling off my tounge. "Come here." Without waiting for an answer, I pulled her into my room and locked the door. "Be lucky Jane's not here." I said quietly, and touched my lips to hers.
(Jane should SO be hunting and randomly come in. Wanna? XD)

"And me?" Jodi asked teasingly, "Cowgirl might be able to play a tune on his harmonica for us. I'm sure Toby still knows how to play his guitar, too."

Cassandra's heart fluttered in her chest again, "Alri--" Before she could even finish her words, she was pulled inside of Alec's room. Her heart skipped a beat when she felt his cold lips against hers, and her eyes closed lightly. Her arms wrapped themselves around his neck, but she couldn't help feeling as if someone was going to barge in...
[Sures! ]

"Would you please play us a song?" I asked politely. Jasper laughed and put his hand on my shoulder.

As I was hunting, I saw a shadow. I leaped through the window and found my brother and... her, snogging.
"Hello."

"Gladly." Replied Jodi, disappearing down the steps as quickly as she had come.

Cassandra's eyes snapped open, and she pulled away, a slightly shocked look on her face. Now that she was human, she realized--to her horror-- that Jane could kill her, if she wanted to.
"Jane."

(You're Jasper.... carry me downstairs or something. xD)

"Cassandra. Alec. Aro will be surprised to know that you are here."

Jasper chuckled, "Come on then, love." He murmured, picking her up easily, and walking down the stairs quickly. "Unless you'd like to walk..." He said, his face an inch away from hers.

"Aro will also be surprised to know that you are trespassing on our territory." Came Jodi's voice as she appeared leaning against the doorway. She looked like a creepy little ghost girl, how she usually appeared whenever part of her would travel to where the Volturi lay.

"This is fine..." I muttered, wrapping my arms around his neck.
