The Twilight Saga; Chapter 3; Something Is Stirring

By the time Jasper and Amanda reached the foot of the stairs, Adele, Abriele, Jodi, and the other twins were already playing their instruments.
"May I have this dance?" Asked Jasper, politely holding out his hand to Amanda.

Jodi tilted her head, "We'll see." She muttered mysteriously, disappearing in a blur.

"Of course." I lied my hands on his shoulders and his hands gripped my waist as we waltzed around gently.

"Hello Jane." I smiled polietly. "What brings you here?"

Jane smiled, well, the traces of a smile at least-- in return, her head tilted slightly. "Hunting business." She replied, glancing at his eyes. "I see you have changed your ways willingly."

"Steph, I've had that look in my eyes. It doesn't just go away. You can trust me."

Stephanie opened her mouth to call Jasper back in, uncertain if she should really let him just run. But what did anyone really have to lose? So, she settled back into the seat and started driving carefully, going just a tad slower than the other cars - she didn't want her very little experience to take advantage of them.

"It'll go away for me," she insisted, keeping her eyes on the road. "I can change myself. One minute I'll be upset, but then I'll cheer myself up when I want to." This really didn't feel like something that would go away as easily as everything else, though . . . it was just . . . like a need. The need twisted at her heart, refusing to release its grip until it was fulfilled . . . which, considering how unlucky she was in this aspect of life, would likely be never.

"Embarrassing? Awkward?" Asked Cassandra, grinning sheepishly. "Scarred for life?" She added with a small laugh. She winced slightly when she pressed her hand to her hand to the scar on her shoulder. Now she started to realize that the pain was like a burning kind of pain.

[Dude... I just had to run into the middle of the street to catch my little demon puppy. I got so lucky that the car that was coming stopped right before he was going to hit him.]

Chloe was at home, laying in her bed, fast asleep. Her mom and little brother decided to stay home with her, it being Christmas vacation.

Jasper's strong hands left my waist as the dance ended, and I lied my head against his chest. "The song is over." He whispered sweetly, and put his hands on my head gently.

"Well, unless you were planning on having Amanda or Cassandra, then I suggest you leave."

"Whatever it is, Stephanie, it will go away. God will help you." I whispered gently. "He always does."

I saw other vampires and went up to them. "Hello."

"Geeeeeett!" Screeched Cowgirl, falling off of the chair he was sitting on, laughing. This seemed to be an inside joke between him and Toby, because even the solemn of the twins started to laugh along with him.

"We're not even going to ask..." Adele and Abriele laughed.

Jane's eyes slid from Alec's face, to Cassandra's. The corner of her mouth pulled up. "Then I should be leaving." She said, an eerie meaning behind her words. In a flash, she disappeared.

I looked at Jasper in shock, and he chuckled. "He's fine, Amanda. Vampires can't have strokes." I laughed with him. "You should know that, being the vmapire expert." I laughed again.

[Good point. We have, like, this huge history thingy and John and Sally would be all question-y and Jasper would be all protective-y.... xD]

"Hot dog, that never gets old!" Gasped Hayden between his seemingly never-ending snickers. "Remember Leslie's reaction when we first tried that?" He asked Toby.

"Oh yes, I do..." Toby replied with a playful roll of his eyes.

Cassandra's eyes fluttered again, and after a few seconds, she pulled away, a light color coming to her face. "I need to breath..." She finally whispered, sounding breathless.

"What was Leslie's reaction?" I asked curiously.

"Oh, yeah." I remembered. "I really need to talk to Jasper about this human thing." (XD)

"When she found out that he was only teasing her, she grabbed a teapot and whacked him over the head with it." Toby chuckled, crossing his arms and leaning against Jodi's piano.

Cassandra giggled, another light blush coming to her face. "Sorry..." She whispered.

"Wouldn't the teapot break?" I asked, very confused.

"It's not your fault." I brushed her cheek. "Go play with Amanda... I really do need to talk to Jasper."

(Jasper should walk in now. )

"Yup, it broke alright." Replied Toby, "She owed Akane a new teapot afterward."

"Play?" Repeated Cassandra in a gentle teasing way, raising one eyebrow. She nodded slowly, "Alright." She whispered, gently and quickly pressing her lips to his.

Jasper opened the door, "I heard you needed to talk to me?" He asked. Luckily, Cassandra had pulled away at this point, and was now exiting the room.

I giggled. "Akane? Have I met her yet...?"

"Jasper told me the same thing." I sighed. "Let's go 'play downstairs." (This is where my plan that I told you via PM comes in. )
"Yes." I shut the door quietly. "I don't understand all this human stuff."

"She's the one that has the knives that can go in and outta 'er fingers." Replied Hayden, jumping back to his feet and fixing his hair. By fixing, I mean ruffling it. He never liked his hair to be 'fixed'.

And, as Hayden and Toby were walking up the steps, they bumped right into Amanda and Cassandra-- with probably enough force to knock them over.

Jasper chuckled, leaning with his back against the door. "What do you not get?"

I shuddered. "Haven't met her yet, I don't think."

With my luck, I fell down the stairs again. And, to add to my amazing fortune, I landed smack on my head and passed out. Again. (Bad Toby! Bad Hayden! xD)
"What was that crash?" I asked immediatly, and opened the door. "Jasper... you may want to come here."

"Now you have," Came Akane's Japanese accented voice. She appeared leaning beside Toby, arms crossed. She had an amused smile on her face.

Cassandra fell down the stairs as well, but she had it less than Amanda did; but still, it was bad.

"Bad Toby, bad cowgirl!" Leslie scolded, smacking the two over their heads like if she were scolding a bunch of dogs.

Jasper pulled me back slightly. "Calm down, Jasper."

"Cassandra!" I yelped (XD), running to the bottom of the stairs. "Jasper!"

"There is no need to be suspicious of me." Said Akane mysteriously, although sounding slightly offended. "I have been here longer than Cowgirl and Toby have.

Cassandra struggled to sit up, and she rubbed the back of her head. "I'm fine..." She lied, it was clear that she was in pain.

Jasper had already appeared, kneeling beside Amanda worriedly.

"Because of these?" Akane lifted a hand, and right before their very eyes, silver tips appeared to be coming out of the skin on the tips of her fingers.

Cassandra nodded, helplessly trying to keep her eyes open. "Alright." She whispered, seeing that she had no other choice.

Sally was upstairs, unaware of what was happening. [xD]
