Thoughts Before Sleep Comes

Yes, I’m obsessed with sporks.
Okay; I only hang out with dorks.
Whatever, I’m cool and you all know.
Hah; I’m freaking awesome; FO SHO.

Okay, well, maybe, I was a bit dramatic.
But I can make comebacks automatic.
So, that makes me cool, right?
My parents say ‘I’m special and bright.’

I’m a little obsessed with dinosaurs
And Harry Potter has always been my friend.
Scratch that; I mean Voldemort.
Don’t worry; I won’t spoil who wins in the end.

I always like to say “Cool beans!”
And if I don’t know you; I might come off as shy.
But, really, I’ve even got cool genes!
My dad’s good at plumbing and my mom makes good pie?

Okay, well, maybe I haven’t gotten a lot of cool genes.
But I’ve learnt enough tricks to impress.
I know riddles, and puzzles, and I’ll tell you them all!
I don’t know the answers, but who cares? You can guess!

My room is off the chain- I’ll tell you.
There’s books strewn across the floor…
Just don’t pay attention to the-
Don’t look!- poster on the door.

Darn, you looked. Well, you see…
Harry Potter means so much to me…
I had to have a poster of him in my room.
He looks so nice when he’s riding on his broom.

Yes, I love reading.
But really; is that a sin?
I also like solitaire-
Even though I never win.

I love gummy worms and chocolate.
Don’t forget the gummy bears.
I want to visit Wonderland
Where there’s Mad Hatters and March Hares.

I’d also like to visit, my friend, Peter Pan.
I know you think he isn’t real.
But that’s because you’re a man.

Only kids can know him, I’ve heard him say himself.
“Only kids. Unless, of course, you are an elf.”

I’m really sort of random;
And I often burst out in song.
I’m not too good at singing.
So, why don’t you sing along?

I’d like to go to Hogwarts,
But if I can’t I guess I’ll be led
To Camp Half-Blood, instead.

I imagine quite often.
It is lots of fun to do.
I like to see me famous
Blowing kisses and saying “Toodiloo!”

And then my mind just wanders
As I close my eyes and think deep.
I think of many things at once
And finally go to sleep.
