Re: The Voices in My Head
Iggy seemed to be doing okay. He was going much slower than he would've liked to go, but he was able to follow Kat's footsteps well enough. It was all he really could do. But all the same, it surprised him when Kat was the one to knock the thorns over, rather than him. He echoed her words with a nasty one of his own, one that won't be repeated, and then the buzzing of the bees started to come towards them.
"We have to get out of here! I can fly us out, but you have to tell me where the heck to go," Iggy said, not quiet at all. He figured that since they were screwed anyway, it didn't matter.
"Cinnamon bun ice cream! Dude! That would be amazing," Shadow sighed, her eyes going wide. "I bet Ben & Jerry's would have something like that! If they don't, nobody does!"
((Right, so, I was going to reply to all the others, but Gri's kicking me off and doesn't wanna wait. XP Sorry, Amanda and Saddle and Lucky.))

(Oh, and by the way, Shadow, Ben and Jerry's has a cinnamon oatmeal flavor. It's REALLY nommy.)

They're AWESOME. Did you know they were the original ones to put cookie dough in ice cream? It's in their biography.)

[A] <Ben and Jerry? Are they more human friends of yours? Or are you speaking of Ben Stiller and Jerry Seinfeld? They have both appeared on the television several times, although they seem to have multiple personalities and think they're more than one person.>

There were several people out and about who have only ever known him as Taro Matsui. In addition there were several people who only ever knew him as Touta Matsuda. And as said before, the same applied to the two of us. Except, nobody really knew me anymore.
I kept my attention around Chelsea, as I could tell whatever was going on with Matt and Matsuda would not turn out pretty. She asked me how old I was? I wondered what that mattered. I mean, maybe I looked a bit young to be Matt's girlfriend, only known living friend and surely wife-to-be, but usually people didn't try to judge. Quickly I told myself I worry too much and yet am so good at concealing emotions so I could have a nice chat with the girl. "About thirteen," I told her. My tone suggested that I didn't think there was anything strange about that, and that was the truth.I nodded, almost a few seconds after she had spoken. Trying to think like Matsuda, I had observed her closely. She could be thirteen. Maybe.
"So....you call yourself Matt?" Matsuda asked, and now I knew he was trying to crack this guy. But it was a pretty weak attempt. I think his try at Yotsuba was better than this one. By a mile.
(Just for reminder to Cyn. X3)
Re: The Voices in My Head
I was doing my best to think along the lines Matt would. If they had suspected either of us, they would have put us into custody by now. Either that, or they would have taken away whichever one wasn't suspected in attempts to make their suspect crack. Whichever floated their boat. Who knew, maybe these guys were the actual criminals that were checking us out to see if we were officials, and they were using fake identities and everything, kind of like we were. So of course they wouldn't have anything to hide if they were for real. Why not ask them things in return? "And I assume you're around Matsu~i's age?" I questioned, adding that little squiggle there to symbolize I'd held the "oo" just a tiny bit longer to correct myself before I called him Matsuda. That would be a big problem.
Matt nodded simply, as smiles and the like would not be necessary cover ups, if they didn't just make matters more suspicious. "Yeah, I prefer Matt. For some reason I don't like the sound of Matthew." I thought about it for a moment and realized that was actually a pretty sly reply. It was most likely the truth, so he couldn't get in trouble for saying that, and it didn't reveal anything about his true identity either. Sometimes his good wit amazed me, but I couldn't let that show now (not the best time in the world).

"Matthew, eh?" Matsuda asked, looking 'Matt' over. I did another facepalm, and groaned internally. Was he acting Canadian now, or something? I remembered thinking of the extended 'u' sound 'Reese' had used when saying Matsui. Why would she do that? Did she know who Matsuda was? I started to hyperventilate a little, but then calmed myself down. She couldn't know, unless this was really Mail Jeevas; aka Matt. Mello's secondhand man.
"So, Reese," I said, trying to make conversation. It had been silent ever since Matsuda had used that stupid Canadian accent. Gosh, sometimes I just wanted to smack him in the head! "Do you mind coming on a walk with me? We could leave these two boys alone," I gestured to Matt and Matsuda. "And talk about more.....girl-ish things."

Don't mind me.))
L stared up at this copy of himself, his expression as blank as ever. What would be the proper answer to give him, I wonder? I obviously can't tell him my real name . . . he might be working for Kira. But should I give him a name at all? Hmm . . . "That depends," he said in all honestly, and moved on without giving an answer. "And yes, I would like some. Thank you." It was quite clear to him that this was some sort of trap. The chocolate had obviously been opened, so at the least this was a test, and at the most, a murder plot. With either of those, a heavy suspicion apparently rested on his shoulders, and what he figured was that nobody would be expecting him to actually take the chocolate.
However, he certainly didn't eat it. Instead, he stood up and slipped them into his pocket. "I am Hideki Ryuga," he finally decided to announce. "I'm pleased to meet you . . . Ryuuzaki." It was a funny thing; that name was the exact same name he'd used himself. Was this person some sort of assassin? It seemed likely, and would explain why they looked and acted so similar. This person might be making subtly threatening him with it all, saying that he had very good methods of spying. "I was just about to go to Dairy Queen; would you like to join me?" There was some logic to the phrase 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer.' If he could just do a little 'research' on this impersonator, then he could perhaps discover just what was going on.
Cody grinned and took a moment to shapeshift back into a human before answering. The process took close to thirty seconds, his large dragon mass sucking itself back into the form of a human. (Thankfully he wasn't the sort of shifter who lost their clothes after a transformation.) "Cody Bryson."
Suddenly a wave of pain hit him. If you asked him how just giving his name triggered it, he definitely couldn't have told you. But something about it just reminded him of Kayla. And I lost her. Anything on earth could be happening to her, anything at all, and I'm not even in the same dimension. There's nothing I can do to protect her. Pain entered his expression, and for a moment he utterly forgot about the girls standing there.
After a while, Pootnic finally found the record player, along with a fine selection of surprisingly modern albums to be played on it. Among them were Kidz Bop ∞, The Annoying Collection (several songs for the purpose of 'getting on peoples' nerves' or never ending), and one record which seemed to have no name. This one he put in first, and turned the music up as high as it would go. This was the theme song of a cop show, the song known as Axel F.
Shadow giggled. "No, no. Ben and Jerry are - um . . . these two guys who made a place where you can get lots of ice cream. And these places are all over the planet now. Or at least all over the country. Their ice cream is awesome!" She had no idea if Ben and Jerry were even the company's founder's names, but it was the best explanation she could give.
((Oh my gosh. XD Lucky, I was listening to What Hurts the Most while I wrote the part to you . . . it was the perfect atmosphere. Even if the lyrics aren't perfect for Cody.))

[J] <Oh,> Ax replied, sounding mildly embarrassed.
I cleared my throat loudly. "I don't think ice cream is going to stop the Yeerks..." I hinted, raising my eyebrows at them.
