"Pop culture . . ." she said, rolling her eyes. "All my sisters wanted one, so my parents eventually gave in, and bought this blue one off of eBay. I managed to steal it from them for my vacation in California."

"Nah . . . not odd, just "unique" . . ." she said, smirking. "My youngest sisters, Odette and Yvette, use our oversized snuggie to make a fort in our living room. It's fun to watch them build it . . . maybe that's where I got all my construction skills from . . ." she stated, gesturing towards the cabin.

[ Oh darn. I just found our snuggie . . . three rooms down from where I sleep . . . *shudders* It'll haunt me in my slumber . . . *is scared* ]

Shantaram awoke the following morning from rain pelting down heavily on his fur. He shook his mane of excess water, and strode over to the bamboo pantry. An apple, covered in rain droplets, sat on the table.

"Why hello there, beautiful . . ." he thought, grabbing the apple between his teeth, and munching it. The horse's dark bronze eyes glimmered with pleasure as the apple's savory flavor charmed his taste buds. When he had finished eating his petit déjeuner, he plodded over to the cabin-shelter the humans had built. He stood over Nick and nuzzled him in the face and neck, gently.
"Rise and shine, Human! It's beautifully rainy outside, today . . ."

Nick awoke with a start, and realized there was horse hovering over him (which very nearly gave him a heart attack). "Oh, hey Shantaram." he greeted sleepily when he remembered exactly which horse it was.

Shantaram bobbed his head happily, and took a few steps back. He sat down on his hind legs ( which most horses rarely ever do ) and watched Nick, cocking his head slightly to the side like a puppy. "Well? What shall we do first? Explore? Gallop? What shall we do on this beautifully rainy day?" he nickered.

Nick, surprised and still a bit tired, stood up and strolled over to the horse to pet his muzzle. "You alright, Shammy?" he asked, even though he knew it couldn't answer.

"Yes . . . I am okay. But . . . I am bored." he thought, and dramatically laid his large head on Nick's shoulder. His life was boring, there was never anything to do back home, that's why he ran away. He had hoped that life on the beach would be less boring than life inland, but on rainy days, it seemed just as dull.
