Welcome to the story exchange! Would you like to make your story better, and help someone make their story better at the same time? Well, then you've came to the right place.

Here's how it works:
You post your form (which you'll fill out later) in two places - on this thread and somewhere on your thread. Fill it out completely, so other people know what they're agreeing too.
Now here's where the fun part comes in There are two ways to pair stories... Let's talk about way 1, or the easy way, first.
You look around the forum, and pick a story that you like. See if it has the form on it, and if it does, send them a PM with your form and ask them if you'd like to edit each others stories.
If they say yes, then you can start editing. Agree on a deal, like for how far you'll edit (in words or time.) I'll explain the rest after the 2nd way to do this
Now the second way is a more random way to find a story. You post on the thread, and I (Arianna) and possibly more people working on the project (I don't know who these are yet, though) will pair you up with someone else. We'll PM them first, and if they say yes, then we'll ask you. We ask you to respect the deal that you are put in
And now comes the editing part. What you should recognize is what the person has said they'd like to be edited. If they'd only like their spelling and grammar corrected, you can send them a polite note about the plot, but don't go too far. Same goes for the other way – if someone wants everything edited, don't just edit one aspect.
Now when you trade stories, chances are that someone will have already written quite a bit on their story. Start editing this, and do it at your own pace, though it would be good to edit around 1000 words a day on a normal story – it's not that hard.
They'll do the same, and you'll PM it to each other. Do what you want with it. Save it to your computer, look at the differences, change your plot or edit your thread, but a kind “thanks” would be considerate.
If your stories are in writing, check back whenever you can to see if there's another chapter to edit.

Questions and Answers
What if I don't know how long my story will be?
You can set your editing time for a certain length, for example 20,000 words. Once you've got that far, deal's over... On their part. You'll still need to edit their story until however long you've agreed on.
I've passed my approx length of the story - and I want my editor to continue editing. What do I do?
Send them a PM asking if they'd like to continue editing
I want to trade stories with someone who doesn't have a form. Now what?
You can ask them if they'd like to trade (be sure to refer them to this thread ) or you could wait until they sign up themselves.
How many people can I trade my story with?
Technically, as many as you want, but you've got to be organized and make sure that you complete all of the edits for them.
And how many stories can I use to trade?
Again, as many as you want, but be careful .
