I just calculated mine too, and I have to write at minimum 805 words a day to get to my goal of 75k by the time TwigWriSum ends. I think I've got a good start since I wrote nearly 800 words between midnight and 1 am, and then I wrote 819 words for a Word War, so in a sense I have enough words for two days on the first. Very Happy

My goal is 1,000 words every day! *grins* For every 100 words I type/write, I get ONE COOKIE/CANDY ITEM. Very Happy

I feel pathetic for setting myself so low. >.< See, I'm not a particularly fast writer (It probably takes me longer to form a coherent, plot-related sentence than it takes me to type it, which is saying a lot; I'm also very slow on the keyboard), nor am I very consistent. As most of you probably know, I'm more artsy and prefer telling a story through pictures rather than words. Also I'm easily distracted and like video games.
On top of that I'm not out of school until the 18th and our teachers are not cutting us any breaks.

While I don't plan on it being my overall goal for the time being, I want to get at least 10,000 words on a single story. (I've said before I've never made it past 6K...)

It depends. You could type it up on Word or a different program and then copy-paste it to a word counting tool (such as wordcounttool.com). If you do it by hand and write it on paper, then you would have to count it by yourself. =\

It's not showing the correct goal for me, or that I have some words already written. It's not registering anything at all, keeps telling me I have 0% of 20,000 words.

@DL-- There are a few errors in your thing. See where after the "sofar=" there's 25000? Assuming that's not how much you've written, that should not be there.

By the looks of it you've written 1325 words, so right after that equals' sign, write 1325 in the exact spot 25000 used to be. In the end your code should look like this:

I started this story the other day as a Freewrite, and I'm going to continue that for the TWS, and probably something else, I don't know. [: I just have to do everything very tediously, because my old computer died, so my dad had to "redo" it, and I lost Microsoft word, and the word counter on there, sooo...yeah. =P

If I were still in my algebra class at school right now, I wouldn't have even been allowed to bring anything to class, 'cause my teacher would order us to watch Monsters v. Aliens or whatever movie was playing. xD [off]The only two good things in that movie were 1) the fact a Journey song played in the middle of it and 2) the American president, the only one that ever has to deal with anything paranormal or supernatural, played funky music to the aliens so strangely.[/off]

& about free writes - How are we supposed to keep track of them? Just word check the whole thing, or what? And when does it end/start?

My friend got caught writing, and her teacher (who I don't have at all) took her private writing notebook and started reading it. But my teacher would just tell me to put it away, if I get caught. Nope, it doesn't. ^^ It can be for anything you want, provided it's actually writing writing and not just, say, filling in answers on a crossword puzzle.

For the freewrites, that depends on how you're writing them. Computer or by hand? If by computer, just make sure you copy and paste them into a word-processing document at some point if they're not there already, and you can just use the built-in wordcounting feature to check it. ^^ If it's by hand, though, you either type it into the computer or count the words yourself.

And it starts today, and ends after August 31 at midnight. nod
