- Spoiler:
- The road to Professor Oak's house was a short one from my house. You just followed the dirt path through the woods and then took a left and BAM! You are there. You know you've gone to far if you reach the lake.
Let me start by saying my name is Noah Stoller. But, everybody calls me Flood because of my love of water. I just turned fourteen today, old enough to get my first Pokémon.
Now, ever since I was only seven years old and my big brother got his first Pokémon I spent almost every day at the Professor's house. Oh how I loved Pokémon, and couldn't wait to get my own one day. I dreamed of becoming the world's best. Breeder, trainer, maybe even participate in contest. I just knew one thing.
I wanted to be really good. Good enough to beat every gym leader out there!
I marched into the Lab's main room, a tremendous smile on my face. "Why hello Flood!" came Professor Oak's cheery old voice. The older man came out from behind his desk.
"Hi ya Proffers!" There was excitement coursing all through my voice. I was literally bouncing up and down "Today is gonna be the best day EVER!" I cried, pumping my fist in the air
"Ooh, I bet it is. Now, why don't you come over here and pick one of these pokeballs out?" He asked, gesturing to the table. I looked closer and I saw three tiny, almost the size of the hole if I put my index and thumb together, sized red and white balls. One had a blue rain drop, one had a green leaf, and the other had a red flame. Naturally, I reached for the one with the blue rain drop and clicked the small center button. It grew in my hands to about the size of my fist or bigger.
My heart rate was increasing, I could hear the blood pumping through me. Carefully I threw the ball up into the air and it flew up for what seemed like eternity. Finally, it snapped open and a blinding blue light came surging forward, revealing a small turtle in its wake
"Squirtle squirt!" Called the squirtle that now appeared in front of me
"Ahh, squirtle. No surprise there, Flood, you and your love of water types. Is this the one you want?" Professor Oak asked me.
"OF COURSE!" I cried with ecstatic glee, rushing and kneeling down next to the Pokémon. MY Pokémon. And he was more then a Pokémon.
He wasn't just some creature. Some pet. He was my new friend.
With a cheerful yell, we both headed out the door to start our long journey of battles, obstacles, and friendship.

Yessss Newms ftw x3 I'm an inspiration!
Haha, but yes! Yours is more descriptive than mine. I approve indeed. -nods-
(Oh man, we should have our characters meet up somewhere....collaborative free-writing? I think so.)

Re: Noah's Freewrites
Oooh, dude, that's so cute! (Haha, I always say that about Pokémon stuff. xD) I love it!
And for the record, I've only ever watched Pokémon once, so I don't know a clue about it.

Re: Noah's Freewrites
Well, Shadow, let me tell you, it's the best thing ever. EVER.
xD I've been playing Pokemon since the 90's. I'm one of those 'original 151' kinda people who turn their noses up at the new generations. (In general. I prefer the simple days of 151, however, I'm not opposed to generations 2 and 3. Anything past that is overkill. =P)
You should watch it or play the games. = )

I'd seriously love to, but my mom never really liked it . . . she says it has aspects of "Western religion," and so she doesn't want that sorta stuff stuck in my brain or something. xD
Re: Noah's Freewrites
Oh, yeah, hardcore religious people kinda hate Pokemon.....watch it anyway! xD You're a big girl Shadow, I'm sure it won't corrupt you.
