"Oh, okay, sorry." Addy sobered, though she was still beaming.

Heather nodded, yawning. Her eyes followed Martin, but she was to tiered to say anything. She tipped forward, quickly righting herself before she could smash face-down into the fire.

She looked between the two teens and sighed before speaking, "I'm so sorry to tell you this... but you're mother-"
The boy looked up at the frowning nurse, tears in his eyes, about to speak. But his sister beat him to it, and in the most heartbreaking voice, said: "She's dead, isn't she?"
The nurse took a moment before answering, "Yes, dear, I'm afraid she is."

A few hours later, after signing some papers and whatnot (Martin and Adelaide hadn't really paid much attention), they got inside Martin's car to drive to their house, so they could pick up a few things before heading to what they supposed to be an orphanage. For, as 'orphanage' implies, they were now parentless.
