Ada shook her head, sighing. She looked at her watch ,7:23 it said. He'd be here in 10 min. Where was Haig?

Haig tossed a gentle pebble at Ada. "Ada?" he called.

Haig shut his eyes. "I dreamed he was telling me he wasn't coming," he whispered. "There are problems at Nascondray and he can't come, he said."

Haig shook his head. "He said not to come," Haig's voice was tiny and soft. "He told me that we should take our time coming, it'd be better that way. He wouldn't tell me why exactly though, which unnerves me a little, but...." He sighed. "Better listen to him...."

Haig laughed. "As your little brother, that's my job."

"What's wrong?" I stood on the edge of the clearing where he was, watching him.

"Sky's falling," he said, nodding his head. "And chicken little is PMSin'. What else is new?"

{first!}

~~**~~

For days she walked and walked. Never turning around to go back to Haig and Anne. What did they know? Ada shook her head miseribly. No. Don't back. Keep going. Get to the car. She trugded to flashy red car and and opened the door, sliding in. She could leave them here. They wouldn't know. Haig wouldn't care. That is what she did. Turned the car on, and headed in the oppsite direction. The Hideout....

THE BOOK - To the Castle and Beyond? - Page 4 Empty Re: THE BOOK - To the Castle and Beyond?

Haig and I had been freaking out, to be honest. We had tried to follow her, and Haig had gone on several air searches, but we couldn't find Ada anywhere.

The other day, Haig had looked at me, his features exhausted. "Our luck, she took the car."

I sat bolt up and looked over at him. "Then we better go and try to get to it first!"

We left camp then, and have been traveling through the forest since. Walking through the endless woods isn't as fun as you might think. Well, it's not fun, period. It sucks. There are millions upon millions of bugs, all of them seeming to want to want your blood. Branches everywhere are searching for any skin left uncovered to nick and tear at; occasionally they hit the jackpot, your eyes. Hunger is another factor you might want to consider. There's not much to eat out here, besides the snack bars Haig packed a long time ago, and any rabbits he catches. I don't like eating the poor bunnies. Yet another pain is using the restroom. There's no toilet-paper in the wild. Enough said.

As we walk along now, I feel exhaustion tugging my legs towards the earth. "Can we please sit?!" I whine, looking at him desperately.

He shakes his head. "Not now, gotta keep going."

"UGH!" I wail, stomping after him, my anger fueling these movements.

"FREEDOM!"
Ada screamed out the window. The air was fresh and clean, smelling like wild flowers. She had traveled 2,000 miles in one day. Hey, she loved speed. Just a few more days to get home. She couldn't wait. But then, again she could not get the thought out of her head that Haig was calling for her.

Haig had been sending out little help signals every now and then, Ada! You can't just leave us! Please come back! I'm sorry! An's being really annoying! Please!

Currently, the two of us are still walking. My feet ache and I have to pee, but I'm not gonna say anything. Sighing loudly, I look up.

Haig is ignoring me.

I sigh even louder.

He winces, but says and does nothing. Just stares straight ahead and walks on.

I scream.

He jumps, spinning around. "WHAT!?!"

"Hi."

"Such a baby, suck it up,"She sent back, shaking with laugher.

After awhile his words sank in, he really did need her. Annie need her for some company, darn. She sighed, stepping on the brakes, tires screeching.

"Alright, I'm coming back,"
