Dusk was falling - a light misty rain was falling down onto the beaches where the survivors huddled, trying to keep away from the rain.

Yvonne shuddered as the cold ran up and down her spine . . . with the rain it was impossible to get a fire started . . .
She took advantage of this spare "non-chaotic" time to go search for her luggage and computer bag.
She walked over to the crash site, and pulled up her jacket to her neck to keep herself warm despite the rain's chillyness.

[ chillyness isn't a word by the way, I just think it sounds better than "coldness" ]

[It totally dose ]

Some of the people had set up small tent-like structures made of sticks and tarps. The smart ones. Rose, the little girl - Kayla - and Xavier crouched under the fronds of a low-lying bush, sheltering from the rain.
"Of all things, it would rain . . . ." murmured Rose.

[ YAY!!! Power!!! Dun . . . dun . . . DUN!!!!! ]

Yvonne zig-zaged through the maze of luggage and debris spread out in disarray.
After fishing about for her suitcase . . . she finally fell upon her computer bag.

"YES!!!" she exclaimed loudly. It had been worth it to give the laptop extra padding.
Yvonne didn't even bother continue looking for her luggage, she immediately tore the laptop out of the bag and rushed to a dryer spot.

"My baby . . ." she murmured, while hugging the laptop tightly.

Rose waved to the girl she had seen earlier. "Wanna come sit with us?" she asked, brightly. It was still raining - a warmer rain, but still slightly depressing.

Yvonne looked up, startled. She had been in such a trance on her "amazing" recovery of her cherished laptop, that she hadn't noticed the girl, Rose, waving to her.

"Uh, sure. Yeah I'll come." she responded, carrying her laptop over to a few adolescents sitting by a large bush.

Rose smiled, brighly. "I'm Rose, like I said. This is my friend, Xavier, and - um, what's your name, honey?" she asked the little girl, sweetly.
The little girl sniffed. "Kayla."
"And Kayla." said Rose.
Xavier nodded at Yvonne, but did not speak.

I smiled at the trio.

"Hi, I'm Yvonne." I said, hoping they hadn't noticed my French accent. I leaned over an whispered into Rose's ear: "Where is the little girl, Kayla, from? Is she your sister?" I asked, hoping I didn't sound rude.

"Um, no . . . " Rose whispered back, "we, well, Xavier found her - her parents where killed, I think."

Adelaide woke with a start, and looked around, confused. Where am I?, she thought as she stood up warily. She glanced around at her surrounding. There was sand everywhere, and clear blue water beside her. "Martin?" She cried. No answer. "Martin?" she called again. Nothing. "Hello?! Is anyone there?" She finally yelled. Then she heard something, faintly. She ran to the noise as fast as she could, and finally she saw people- dozens of them.

Heather had been thrown from the plane on impact - heat smothered her, as she awoke, lying face down in the sand, near the burning plane propeller.
Someone's voice had struck her out of her daze.

Adelaide sprinted towards the people, and what she saw amazed-well, more like horrified- her. Plane parts lay everywhere, adults and children alike were injured- probably fatally, and still others were trapped in the plane remains. She chocked back tears, how could this happen?

So what?

Heather pulled herself up off the ground, just in time to see a girl run out of the tree-line. She looked around. What had happened?! A plane crash . . . ? Horror stuck her.

Yvonne opened her laptop and turned it on, hoping that there was still some battery life in it.
She sighed, disappointed. It only had 5% battery life. Not enough time to write a Mayday e-mail, save it on a USB drive . . . and send the e-mail whenever she got an internet connection.
She shut down the computer and put it back in it's case.

She stopped. "That's funny . . ." thought Yvonne outloud. "I just had the case two minutes ago . . ." She then heard a noise come from somewhere in the jungle. Had someone taken it?

"Uh, be right back." Yvonne told Rose and Xavier.

"What is it?" asked Rose, getting up. "Where are you going?"
