Yvonne choked on her tears, and babbled quietly,"Aidez-moi . . ."
Her brain was in such a blur, she couldn't even think in English.

As Nick drew nearer, he saw Yvonne on the ground, apparently in trouble. "Yvonne!" he screeched, running as fast as he could. He skidded to a stop when he came to her, and knelt down, "Yvonne- oh my gosh- are you okay?!"

Yvonne opened her mouth to speak, but shook her head again, in denial. Her mind wanted to explain to Nick what to do, but her body couldn't do it. All she could do was try to get to the syringe and insulin bottle before she blacked out completely. But even then, her attempt would be futile, since she was shaking so violently, she wouldn't be able to inject any insulin.

[ Poor Yvonne . . . she's diabetic and Nick doesn't even know it . . . Such a sad day for Yvonne . . . *meanwhile is sitting at edge of seat eating popcorn . . . waiting excitedly to see if Yvonne's gonna die . . . *

Nick spotted the bottle and syringe and immediately knew what to do (he's been in foster care his whole life- he's lived with diabetic kids before). He injected the syringe into the bottle [is that what they do?], and then into Yvonne's arm.

(I, on the other hand, have never known a diabetic, so...)

Yvonne took deep breaths and leaned against Nick, waiting patiently for her sugars to rise. After a minute, she felt much better, and looked up at Nick. "I'm sorry . . ." she apologized, silently.
