SCARS ARE PRIDE
"Please pardon my behavior, little Miss." Sadron interrupted, forcing a tad smile onto his face as he pulled his blade out of the ground, sheathing it. He ran after her.

Corinne glared back at him, "Just a minute ago you were so intent on killing me and now you want to be friends. Please excuse me if I'm past the point of being friends with a murderer." She whirled back around and stalked off away from him as quickly as she could. I have more important things to think about. Like... where am I going to sleep tonight?

"If you'd like, little Miss," Sadron began, slowing his pace. "I can bring ya over at my place." he offered willingly, before running after her once more.

Re: || Death Told Us Not To || Chapter 1 ||
Corinne stopped abruptly and faced him. It didn't seem she had much of a choice at this point. The town was so small that her father would find her anywhere except for at this man's house. "Fine," she said stonily, "and by the way, I have a name. You may call me Corinne. Now where do you stay?" she spoke slowly. She still despised the man. She knew he had only backed down because he thought she was pretty. That was her other dilemma. No one wanted to fight her, not only because she was a woman, but because she was often defined as 'pretty' among men. She hated it.

Sadron immediatly cast his hood over his head like he always did, and began leading the way to his house. "A'right little Miss- I mean- Corinne. I shall reveal my first name to you, but not my last." he began, all expressions draining out of his face, leaving him expressionless. "You shan't tell it to anyone." he said coldly, and strictly. "Do we got ourselves a deal, miss Corinne?"

"I swear that I will not speak to anyone of you or your name," she replied coolly. Corinne followed him silently. She wasn't interested in talking to this coward. Her skirts dragged softly against the dirt ground and her hand almost immediately went to her sword when she heard something near by. "Hurry up," she said, walking ahead of him.

He nodded and broke into a run, heading straight for his home.

Corinne actually laughed as he did this. Picking up her skirts, she shook her shoes off and raced after him. Running was actually easy for her. She had kept in shape, needing to be toned if she wanted to be able to pick up the sword. Keeping up with him had been easy for her so far.

Sadron stopped, and spun around. "Well," he began, smiling widely. "Here we are!" he exclaimed. He slowly opened the door, and offered for her to go in first. "Lady's first." he said politely, though he was grinning wickedly.

She bowed teasingly and entered his living quarters. She looked around for a few seconds before her gaze snapped back to him, "So shall you give me your name?" she asked, genuinely curious. "You said that you might tell me but you never did get to that," she added. She paused before adding, "Oh, but before you tell me that, might I ask a question of you? Was there any other reason why you decided not to duel me... except for the fact that I look bonny in my dress?"

Sadron smirked brilliantly, pushing back his hood as he entered his house and closed the door. "Firstly, m'Dear, there was no other reason." he then inhaled sharply before finishing. "And secondly, my name, is Sadron. It's an elven name."

Corinne rolled her eyes, "I know Sadron is an elven name," she pulled back her hair to reveal the points to her ears. Usually they were hidden beneath her hair though, because her parents were afraid of what the towns people might do if they found out her family was elven. "And since there was no other reason," she slapped him on the face, "you deserve that," she hissed and turned away from him.

"WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?" Sadron roared in fury, his face turning to one side, making his long black hair swish, revealing his long pointed ears. "You're not the only elf around." he muttered.

"That was because I should be treated fairly. You backed down only because you thought I was pretty! I just want someone to practice with," Corinne grumbled. "I'm only half elf," she explained, "my da is an elf and my mother is human. I've never met another elf before, though," she cocked her head to the side. "That's the reason my ears are so short, too. Because I'm only half. I have the points to them, but my ears are shaped like human ears."

Sadron laughed quietly. "Half-elf, eh? 'Tis quite alright. You are not alone. But I'm a full elf, and I shall admit that. Both my parent are elves. Full elves, too." he explained, smiling slightly.

Corinne nodded solemnly. She narrowed her eyes before breaking into a grin, "You really aren't all that horrible," she said, "y'know that? So... why did you kill those guards? That really wasn't necessary."

"The King has been following me for the past four years," Sadron began, glancing away from her. "I was a former knight of his. I fought in war, and swore by my own cold blood, that I'd protect him. No matter the circumstances.. but then came the day. The day where he got a brilliant cut right across his face. And whom does he blame!? ME BLOODY *HECK*, ME!" Sadron roared in anger.

"Well that's not your fault," Corinne said, putting a hand on his shoulder to try and calm him down. "Besides, it could have been worse than a cut. Better a cut than death," she murmured, "but that still doesn't explain why you killed the guards."

"I told you, that I killed them bloody guards because the King's after me! Those guards knew who I was. They were after me. They are the King's Guards, do you not see!?" he hissed loudly, taking a few steps away from her.

Corinne nodded, "Okay, I understand now. It still isn't your fault. You had no way to know he would get a bloody scratch. I would've protected myself first. Which reminds me... would you teach me how to fight?" she asked. She sat on one of the chairs, waiting for him to answer.

Sadron then nodded slowly. "S- Sure.. But first," he began, inhaling sharply, though he was smiling lightly. "I must gain your trust- and you must gain mine."

Corinne nodded solemnly, "Yes, I must agree with that point. You already have my trust... for the most part. You haven't tried to kill me since we've gotten here. Not like you could have, anyways," she grinned slyly. "Now I just have to work on gaining yours."
